History[edit]

Wing XI opened in April 1999 as part of the Immortal, in order to provide the TIE Corps with a new wing dedicated for playing X-Wing Alliance in single player mode. Hades served as its first Wing Commander.

Squadrons were openly slowly, until the Wing stabilized at five squadrons, with Vampire Squadron left closed. Vampire Squadron opened briefly in mid-2001, but was soon closed again; it did not open permanently until the beginning of 2002.

Phantom Squadron became the first squadron to reach twelve members in September 2001 under its squadron commander, Werdna Elbee. At its height (April 2002), Wing XI boasted fifty-six members.

Wing Commanders were typically appointed from within, with outstanding (and "home grown") squadron commanders receiving the position. From Dras Hempor onwards (with the exception of Mell Kerrigan) all Wing Commanders were "Immortal raised" until the arrival of BubbaX, with three of them (Dras Hempor, Adrenaline, and Darksaber) eventually ascending to the Commodore position onboard the Immortal.

Ranger Squadron would close in March 2003. Falcon Squadron closed around February 2004, before all squadrons were closed in April 2004, with Demon Squadron moved to Dagger Squadron onboard the Relentless, Ghost Squadron moved to Typhoon Squadron onboard the Challenge, Phantom Squadron moved to Tornado Squadron onboard the Challenge, and Vampire Squadron moved to Eta Squadron onboard the Colossus. Gunman served as the final Wing Commander for Wing XI in its standard configuration.

When the Wing was reopened in 2005 for use as a testing division for the Science Officer's in-house platform, Imperial Alliance, only Phantom Squadron was reopened. Spearhawk was appointed as Wing Commander for this single squadron test wing configuration. This iteration would only last the year, and the wing was soon shuttered again, with SavageAz serving as its final Wing Commander.
