Captain Armon Ferro is a pilot of the Emperor's Hammer TIE Corps assigned to Wing II aboard the Imperial II-class Star Destroyeer 'Warrior'. He is the Executive Officer of [[Theta Squadron]] and pilots one of that squadron's distinctive TIE/d Defenders, which he has affectionately named 'Austerlitz' after a small village found on his home planet of Abregado-rae.

As soon as he was able, he signed on with a trading company running the Rimma Trade Route from Abregado to Kal'Shebbol; during his travels, he came to realise that Abregado was not a uniquely corrupt and lawless planet, but that the so-called New Republic was already falling into decadence and corruption and was unable to impose any sort of order on the galaxy.

Learning of an Imperial remnant under the command of a talented and industrious warlord, he signed on with the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet and was assigned to [[Eagle Squadron]], part of Wing XXII based on the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser 90 'Renegade', where he quickly distinguished himself as a 'formidable bird of prey'. Eagle Squadron, as an infiltration squadron, uniquely piloted the T65b X-Wing starfighter; Ferro affectionately named his assigned fighter 'Marengo', after a hill found on his home planet of Abregado-rae.

Shortly after his enlistment in 33 ABY, Eagle Squadron along with the rest of the Strike Fleet were despatched to the Unknown Regions to aid the Chiss Ascendancy in their fight against the Kilji Illumine; Ferro saw action multiple times during the Defence of the Tkon Rift, earning the commendation of Vice Admiral [[Locke Setzer]] as a 'true hero of the Battle at G5406'. ==Squadron History==

Theta has a long history in the TIE Corps, predating the records listed below. However, the archives that contain this information are encrypted in cold storage.

===Reactivation===

Jarek La'an took Command of Theta Squadron when it was reactivated in the third month of 23 ABY (March 2014). The squadron was filled with transferred members of [[Lambda Squadron]]. In that first year, Theta took first place in Raise the Flag. They continued this tradition for 4 more years, winning RtF through 2018. As the years went on, some of the more veteran players with significant experience in the single-player games started moving to the reserves. In 28 ABY (2020), [[High Admiral|HA]] [[Pete Mitchell]] took command of Theta Squadron. During his tenure, he would see a new generation of pilots join, competitive Star Wars: Squadrons players that originated from a small group of willing pilots called the Cobra TIEs.

===Remobilization===

In 31 ABY (2022), [[Vapen Van'an]] was assigned as Commander of Theta when GN Mitchell stepped down. This solidified Theta's transition to a more multiplayer-focused squadron. The squadron never forgot its' roots, still flying the older games, but generally moved toward more PvP and PvE focused.

In 32 ABY, when [[Battlegroup II]] was expanded with the addition of the [[Relentless|ISDII Relentless]], pilots from [[Sigma Squadron]] moved to [[Hammer Squadron]]. After [[Squadron ReMobilization|ReMob]] in 31 ABY, and a brief period aboard the Relentless, the pilots of the new squadron moved back to the Warrior in Theta Squadron.

===Progession (33 ABY)===

The next year, 33 ABY, brought many changes for Theta. After the XO spot remained vacant for a few months, [[Nix Varro|LCM Nix Varro]] transferred from [[Sin Squadron]] to fill the vacancy. He brought a strong strategic mind as well as a desire to bring a new identity and enthusiasm to the squadron. Shortly after this, [[Jai Thorne|LCM Jai Thorne]] joined the TC and Theta as a Flight Member. His drive and notable performance quickly earned him the Flight Leader position. The addition of these officers filled out Theta's leadership as they rolled into Squadron Remobilization VI.

They were not the only notable addition to Theta in 33 ABY; Jai had noticed that Theta's Crew Chief, while exemplary, was in need of some assistance, so he requisitioned a new R5 unit, [[R5-T3]] to help maintain, fix, and spot issues with the squadron's fighters. The droid quickly proved itself by finding and fixing some minor, and some not-so-minor, issues on the squadrons' craft. For this, they dubbed the droid "Spotter".

Of minor note, this was also the year that the squadron patch received an update, not just increasing size and resolution, but updating the font to match Imperial Standard, Aurebesh. The Kraken was still featured, now with high-res tentacles and sharper lines.

* In the [[Raise the Flag 2014|2014 Raise the Flag]] competition, Theta Squadron took first place among the eight squadrons in the TIE Corps with 3,335 points, earning the title of the TCCOM’s Own Escort Squadron.

When Armon was 11 years of age, his sister secretly escaped Abregado, yearning to fulfil her poetic yearnings away from her quotidian existence as a saloon rat. Armon regarded this as a painful betrayal, and his bitterness towards his father - whom he blamed for Adelle's disappearance - only increased. As soon as he was able, he signed on with a trading company running the Rimma Trade Route from Abregado to Kal'Shebbol; during his travels, he came to realise that Abregado was not a uniquely corrupt and lawless planet, but that the so-called New Republic was already falling into decadence and corruption and was unable to impose any sort of order on the galaxy.

Learning of an Imperial remnant under the command of a talented and industrious warlord, he signed on with the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet and was assigned to [[Eagle Squadron]], part of Wing XXII based on the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser 90 'Renegade', where he quickly distinguished himself as a 'formidable bird of prey'. Eagle Squadron, as an infiltration squadron, uniquely piloted the T65b X-Wing starfighter; Ferro affectionately named his assigned fighter 'Marengo', after a hill found on his home planet of Abregado-rae.

Shortly after his enlistment in 33 ABY, Eagle Squadron along with the rest of the Strike Fleet were despatched to the Unknown Regions to aid the Chiss Ascendancy in their fight against the Kilji Illumine; Ferro saw action multiple times during the Defence of the Tkon Rift, earning the commendation of Vice Admiral [[Locke Setzer]] as a 'true hero of the Battle at G5406'. Suffering from traumatic decompression during one of the final sorties of the campaign, Ferro's wounds resulted in a lengthy recovery period outside the cockpit - during this time he was appointed Assistant Training Officer, recognising his attainment at the Imperial University and proven leadership skills.

His return to active service occured in time for him to fly with Eagle Squadron during the 'First Encounters' campaign against a rogue imperial remnant known as the First Order. Once again distinguishing himself, he was shortly thereafter reassigned to [[Theta Squadron]] to serve as the squadron's Executive Officer, earning a promotion to Captain during the 34 ABY remobilistion exercises.

Armon regarded this as a painful betrayal, and his bitterness towards his father - whom he blamed for Adelle's disappearance - only increased. As soon as he was able, he signed on with a trading company running the Rimma Trade Route from Abregado to Kal'Shebbol; during his travels, he came to realise that Abregado was not a uniquely corrupt and lawless planet, but that the so-called New Republic was already falling into decadence and corruption and was unable to impose any sort of order on the galaxy.

Learning of an Imperial remnant under the command of a talented and industrious warlord, he signed on with the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet and was assigned to [[Eagle Squadron]], part of Wing XXII based on the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser 90 'Renegade', where he quickly distinguished himself as a 'formidable bird of prey'. Eagle Squadron, as an infiltration squadron, uniquely piloted the T65b X-Wing starfighter; Ferro affectionately named his assigned fighter 'Marengo', after a hill found on his home planet of Abregado-rae.

Shortly after his enlistment, Eagle Squadron along with the rest of the Strike Fleet were despatched to the Unknown Regions to aid the Chiss Ascendancy in their fight against the Kilji Illumine; Ferro saw action multiple times during the Defence of the Tkon Rift, earning the commendation of Vice Admiral [[Locke Setzer]] as a 'true hero of the Battle at G5406'. Suffering from traumatic decompression during one of the final sorties of the campaign, Ferro's wounds resulted in a lengthy recovery period outside the cockpit - during this time he was appointed Assistant Training Officer, recognising his attainment at the Imperial University and proven leadership skills. His return to active service was marked by his promotion to Commander, and occured in time for him to fly with Eagle Squadron during the 'First Encounters' campaign against a rogue imperial remnant known as the 'First Order'. Once again distinguishing himself, he was shortly thereafter reassigned to [[Theta Squadron]] and appointed Squadron Executive Officer and recieved a promotion to Captain during the remobilistion campaign of the TIE Corps.

===Reactivation===

Jarek La'an took Command of Theta Squadron when it was reactivated in the third month of 23 ABY (March 2014). The squadron was filled with transferred members of [[Lambda Squadron]]. In that first year, Theta took first place in Raise the Flag. They continued this tradition for 4 more years, winning RtF through 2018. As the years went on, some of the more veteran players with significant experience in the single-player games started moving to the reserves. In 28 ABY (2020), [[High Admiral|HA]] [[Pete Mitchell]] took command of Theta Squadron. During his tenure, he would see a new generation of pilots join, competitive Star Wars: Squadrons players that originated from a small group of willing pilots called the Cobra TIEs.

===Remobilization===

In 31 ABY (2022), [[Vapen Van'an]] was assigned as Commander of Theta when GN Mitchell stepped down. This solidified Theta's transition to a more multiplayer-focused squadron. The squadron never forgot its' roots, still flying the older games, but generally moved toward more PvP and PvE focused.

In 32 ABY, when [[Battlegroup II]] was expanded with the addition of the [[Relentless|ISDII Relentless]], pilots from [[Sigma Squadron]] moved to [[Hammer Squadron]]. After [[Squadron ReMobilization|ReMob]] in 31 ABY, and a brief period aboard the Relentless, the pilots of the new squadron moved back to the Warrior in Theta Squadron.

===Progession (33 ABY)===

The next year, 33 ABY, brought many changes for Theta. After the XO spot remained vacant for a few months, [[Nix Varro|LCM Nix Varro]] transferred from [[Sin Squadron]] to fill the vacancy. He brought a strong strategic mind as well as a desire to bring a new identity and enthusiasm to the squadron. Shortly after this, [[Jai Thorne|LCM Jai Thorne]] joined the TC and Theta as a Flight Member. His drive and notable performance quickly earned him the Flight Leader position. The addition of these officers filled out Theta's leadership as they rolled into Squadron Remobilization VI.

They were not the only notable addition to Theta in 33 ABY; Jai had noticed that Theta's Crew Chief, while exemplary, was in need of some assistance, so he requisition a new R5 unit, [[R5-T3]] to help maintain, fix, and spot issues with the squadron's fighters. The droid quickly proved itself by finding and fixing some minor, and some not-so-minor, issues on the squadrons' craft. For this, they dubbed the droid "Spotter".

Of minor note, this was also the year that the squadron patch received an update, not just increasing size and resolution, but updating the font to match Imperial Standard, Aurebesh. The Kraken was still featured, now with high-res tentacles and sharper lines.

Commander Armon Ferro is a pilot of the Emperor's Hammer TIE Corps assigned to Wing II aboard the Imperial II-class Star Destroyeer 'Warrior'. He is the Executive Officer of [[Theta Squadron]] and pilots one of that squadron's distinctive TIE/d Defenders, which he has affectionately named 'Austerlitz' after a small village found on his home planet of Abregado-rae.

Armon Ferro was born six years after the Battle of Yavin on Abregado-rae, the son of saloonkeeper Gabrel Ferro; he never knew his mother, although Armon often refers to her as "a booze-soaked call girl from the parts of the spaceport even the thugs don't venture in to". <h3>Re-Activation</h3>
In Dec of 29 ABY The then MAJ [[Talon Jade]] formerly of [[Firebird Squadron]], under the command of HA [[Anahorn Dempsey]] was tasked with Command of the newly Re-Formed Infiltration Squadron Eagle. Given twelve dusty, dented and decrepit looking X-Wings, left over from the original Eagle Squadron 14 years ago, MAJ Jade eagerly went to work getting the new squadron ready for battle. 
Eagle Squadron was the fifth squadron activated in [[Wing X]], stationed aboard the [[Challenge|ISDII Challenge]]. MAJ Jade was promoted to the rank of [[TIE Corps rank system|Lieutenant Colonel]], and would continue to command until Mar 30 ABY. Command of Eagle Squardron was Given to at the time COL [[Horus Blackheart]]. 
<h3>Re-Assignment</h3>
On April 18th 32ABY Eagle Squadron was re-assigned to [[Wing XXII]] on the [[Renegade|MC90 Renegade]] with current [[Squadron Commander|Commander]] COL [[Miles Prower]]. COL Prower still commands this Squadron with great things to come.

During his voyages through the Galaxy, he heard many stories of the nascent New Republic and came to idealise it in his mind as a bastion of justice and truth, but as he had more and more encounters with the Republic his political views became ever more polarised against this corrupt and permissive government. Learning of an Imperial remnant under the command of a talented and industrious warlord, he quickly signed on with the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet where he quickly distinguished himself as a 'formidable bird of prey', becoming noted as a 'true herop of the Battle at G5406' during the Defence of the Tkon Rift campaign.
