[[Captain]] Jarion Renalds is currently a [[Flight Member]] within [[Rho Squadron]], [[Wing II]], Battlegroup V of the [[TIE Corps]].

He was formerly a [[Protector]] in the [[Dark Brotherhood]], and was also once a [[Specialist]] in the [[Hammer's Fist]].

== Early History ==
Jarion was born in 3 BBY on Coruscant to a Mandalorian father and Coruscanti mother. His family was considered middle-class by the standards of the planet's living society and therefore Jarion had an average upbringing, being too young to understand galactic politics during the waining years of Palpatine's Empire. Despite this, as he developed through his childhood he took a keen interest in spacecraft, earning himself a part-time apprenticeship as a mechanic at a starport when he was fourteen.

Luckily for him, his parents had enough in the way of credits and connections and managed to enroll Jarion into an esteemed Naval Academy upon his sixteenth birthday. It was in this environment that the Mandalorian really flourished, showing just how far his passion for military-grade spacecraft could go. He eventually graduated fourth of his class in 15 ABY and shortly thereafter had earned himself a commission as a Lieutenant in the New Republic Defence Fleet, flying the famed X-Wing fighter.

== New Republic Defense Fleet ==
His service was not off to a good start, Jarion lost his right hand in a mid-air collision and the subsequent crash landing during a training exercise in Coruscant's atmosphere. Fortunately, he managed to land his badly damaged fighter in an industrial district which gave him enough flat space to land successfully. After the accident and a hearing into the incident, it was decided that the other pilot had been at fault and Jarion was given a suitable prosthetic replacement to continue his duty in the fleet.

Throughout the next six years the Coruscanti's training was put to good use, being deployed to numerous locations around New Republic space and seeing his fair share of space combat in the final years of the Galactic Civil War. It was during this conflict that Jarion saw for himself how faults in the tactical and strategical aspects of the organisation had led to many unnecessary casualties amongst New Republic Forces.

As a result of this in 21 ABY, the then disillusioned Captain eventually took his chances and managed to hijack an empty shuttlecraft whilst the ship he was serving on was patrolling through the Outer Rim Territories. Having heard from the hushed whispers of his former comrades that an Emperor's Hammer affiliated ship was in the area, and knowing well what a good opportunity it was to advance his own career, Jarion made a bee-line for the destroyer and promptly turned himself in on touchdown in the hangar bay with the intent to defect.

== TIE Corps ==
Little time past after his records were checked over, and the Coruscanti was assigned to the infamous TIE Corps as a Cadet. He went through through the recruitment process at a steady pace, being retrained through the [[Imperial Weapons and Tactics School]] onboard the Modified Platform Daedalus. Jarion was promoted to Sub-Lieutenant upon graduation and assigned to [[Beta Squadron]] aboard the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer [[ISDII Hammer|Hammer]], flying the TIE Advanced starfighter. Despite a shaky start with the vastly different flight system, Jarion managed to utilise his previous naval experience and prove his worth to the Commander, receiving a swift promotion to full Lieutenant in a matter of days. It was around this time that the Mandalorian heard over the counter of the off-duty bar that the Logistics Office were short-handed and looking for more volunteer. Having been responsible for some of the logistics during his days with the Republic, Jarion sent of an application to Vice Admiral [[Mark Schueler]] and was keenly assigned as an Archivist.

After a month of active duty with Beta, Lieutenant Renalds was transferred to [[Epsilon Squadron]], this time flying the TIE Defender. He would remain with this squadron for almost two years, the first half of this assignment as a [[Flight Leader]], partaking on a countless number of patrols and skirmishes with pirates and stray Republic vessels. In the free time between assignments, the Mandalorian would often keep himself busy stocking the inventory and updating orders of battle for Vice Admiral Schueler. After stepping back into a wingman role, Jarion decided to focus more on his office work than being an active-flying pilot. Nevertheless, after many months spent filing sheets and stocking request forms, the Coruscanti was transferred over to [[Alpha Squadron]], again as a Flight Leader. This time behind the controls of a Spectre Advanced Missile Shuttle, the Mandalorian was promoted to [[Lieutenant Commander]] two weeks later, and remained at this post for another two years. .

== Hammer's Fist ==
Having found his position in the pilot's seat diminished greatly by his work with the Logistics Office, Jarion found himself with a need for some action in his day to day life. With the approval of his superiors. the Mandalorian enlisted with the Hammer's Fist and was placed in Delta Squad, nicknamed Eode's Eopies and assigned as an Airborne Infantryman. Jarion found that he thrived with ground combat, and quickly earned the attention of his commanding officers. It wasn't long before he was promoted up to Corporal and reassigned to lead Alpha Squad, the Mandalorian relying much on the space tactics he had been taught as a teenager but tweaked to suit ground formations and movements.

His success with leading the squad earned him a further promotion to Specialist, and it was many months until his service was cut short after a serious injury fighting pirates. Hanging up his Stormtrooper helmet for the time being, Jarion decided to return to full-time flight duty with Alpha.

== Remnant, Recommission and Rho ==
In 25 ABY with the threat of the Yuuzhan Vong looming over the galaxy, Jarion had become frustrated with the idle stance held by the Emperor's Hammer. After four years of service he was discharged at his own request and travelled to Yaga Minor in Imperial Remnant territory. The pilot did not hold the Republic with much regard and assumed he'd integrate into the Remnant far better. Jarion spent the next three years as an NCO in the Stormtrooper's Corps, participating in skirmishes with the Vong from the devastation of Muunilinst to the well known Battle of Bastion in 28 ABY. His squad was whittled down during the conflict until only two remained, and it was as he boarded the dropship to leave the capital world that the soldier surmised that he'd done his part to protect Imperial Space from the intergalactic invaders.

With this major threat to the galaxy suppressed, the former Lieutenant Commander returned to Emperor's Hammer Territory and asked to be recommissioned as a TIE pilot and given his previous occupation in the Logistics Office. Partially to his surprise, the request was approved and Jarion was assigned to a new unit flying the indomitable TIE Interceptor. [[Rho Squadron]] was stationed on the ISDII Warrior under Colonel [[Hav Antiel]], and it was Jarion's first time serving on any Star Destroyer other than the Hammer. Having missed fighting in the cockpit and the vacuum of space, the Coruscanti took to his new position with a renewed passion, a Flight Leader job awaiting him after two months of service.
Despite the Mandalorian's previous time in other squadrons, he found Rho one of the most comfortable assignments he had been given in his career, despite flying what was arguably an unshielded death trap. Unlike before, he made more of an effort to get to know the other pilots, and enjoyed gambling and drinking with his squad-mates whenever the opportunity arose. It was not long at all before Jarion was promoted to a full [[Commander]]. Shortly after this he took part in the yearly Raise The Flag event with his squad, and was overjoyed when Rho managed to wrench victory from the hands of the Hammer and every other squadron to become the TCCOMM's Escort Flight. Another few months down the line, the Coruscanti was promoted once again, this time to [[Captain]]. He still continues to lead Flight II, and can often be found in the hangar bay admiring the custom art on his TIE Interceptor.

== Personal Life ==
Due to Jarion's Mandalorian heritage he often travelled to Mandalore during leave. It was here in 18 ABY that he met Dha'kalyc Dane Beviin during a night of heavy drinking on the streets of Keldabe. They both managed to find themselves in the middle of a cantina brawl and assisted each other in leaving relatively unscathed. They grew pretty inseperable over the following months whenever Jarion was off-duty and eventually married in a private ceremony on Mandallia.

== Combat ==
Despite preferring to trust in the reliability of a blaster rifle or pistol, Jarion has honed his melee skills to a tee. Ever since he was a child he has been a practitioner of the [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jakelian_knife-dance Jakelian] form, which relies heavily on the use of blades. It was most famously taught to Clone Troopers bred on Kamino by their Mandalorian instructors, and one of these instructors just happened to be his father.

When it does indeed come to range then Jarion's weapons of choice are the [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/EE-3_carbine_rifle EE-3 Carbine Rifle] and [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/WESTAR-35_blaster_pistol/Legends Westar-35 Blaster Pistol] due to both their reliability and raw stopping power. Alternatively, when it comes to closer ranges then the Mandalorian is more than comfortable using a variety of bladed weapons and staffs, having studied a variety of weapon skills when he was a student at the Naval Academy on Coruscant and then again with the TIE Corps, Hammer's Fist and the Dark Brotherhood.

By 2019, the TIE Corps' membership had dwindled from its heyday in the early 2000s, leading to the closure of Beta and Sigma squadrons. This left the Corps with only six active squadrons. Efforts to attract new and returning pilots started working, and by March of 2020, the TCCOM announced plans to reopen two squadrons. Hav Antiel, then Commodore of the Warrior, expressed interest in leading the ship's new squadron. From the available list of inactive Wing II squadrons (Psi, Rho, and Sigma), Antiel chose Rho because it was a relative "blank slate" compared to Sigma (which had been mothballed in 2019) and Psi (which had historical reports and logos on file). Antiel found evidence that a historical Rho Squadron had existed in the past, but he was unable to find any reports, logos, or solid history.

In developing the initial mission and image of Rho Squadron, CMDR Antiel looked to the Imperial squadrons in the original Star Wars trilogy, depicted with gray/blue fighters and black uniforms. When Rho was reactivated, every other TIE Corps squadron consisted of superfighters like the TIE Defender and Missile Boat. Sin Squadron had just earned a signature superfighter, the TIE Sinister, that notably included cupholders and air conditioning. This inspired Antiel to pitch Rho as a throwback to the canonical Imperial mindset: bad guys with expendable ships and pilots and stark black and gray iconography. Antiel told the TCCOM, FA Plif, of his desire for a complement of shieldless TIEs, and Plif helped Antiel decide on the menacing TIE Interceptor. While other squadrons used different fighters for each flight, Antiel followed the examples shown in the films, where squadrons consisted of a dozen of the same fighter.

Rho Squadron was activated on 16 April 2020 with three veteran pilots: [[Trideo Arkson]] and [[Drake Starfire]] as [[Flight Leader|Flight Leaders]] and Hav Antiel as CMDR. They were joined by another returning veteran, [[Jarion Renalds]] on 18 April. Although Trideo Arkson soon went AWOL and Drake Starfire left to command [[Inferno Squadron]], Rho grew, attracting new pilots to fly the TC's only TIE Interceptors. On 21 June 2020, Rho Squadron became full for the first time with 12 active pilots.

Still reeling from his disappointing [[Raise the Flag 2019]] loss as Commodore of the Warrior, Antiel saw 2020's RtF competition as an opportunity to redeem himself and announce his new squadron as real challengers. Rho began preparations for RtF months ahead of its September start date. As preemptive rule changes scuttled some of Rho's strategies, the pilots adapted, developing alternative strategies before finally settling on a familiar formula: single-player SPAM flying.

[[Raise the Flag 2020]] became a three-way contest between Rho, fellow newcomers [[Tempest Squadron]], and five-time winners [[Theta Squadron]]. Rho's SP focus, spearheaded by Antiel, [[Lo Mar]], [[Epicedion]], and [[Frenchie6]], was bolstered by Lo Mar's fiction entries, including his Bonus-winning fiction. At the close of the contest, Rho set a new RtF record with 8,078 points, becoming only the third different squadron to earn the title of TCCOM's Escort Squadron. Four of Rho's pilots ranked among the Top 10, more than any other squadron. For 10 of Rho's 12 pilots, 2020 marked their first-ever Raise the Flag competition. Although Rho's triumph gave the new squadron prestige and enmity, the magnitude of their RtF accomplishment was acknowledged across the TIE Corps.

Rho's attitude and sense of community were pivotal to the squadron's success in RtF. Although every member of the squadron contributed to that sense of community, the heart of Rho in 2020 was its XO, [[acetiepilot]]. Tommy, as he was known to his peers, coined and epitomized the "Rho looks after Rho" mindset by checking in with other pilots, stoking conversations on comms, and organizing pools to buy copies of games for Rho pilots. Antiel recognized Tommy's potential and made plans with his XO to take over command of the squadron in 2021.

==Real-Life History==

===2020===
By 2019, the TIE Corps' membership had dwindled from its heyday in the early 2000s, leading to the closure of Beta and Sigma squadrons. This left the Corps with only six active squadrons. Efforts to attract new and returning pilots started working, and by March of 2020, the TCCOM announced plans to reopen two squadrons. Hav Antiel, then Commodore of the Warrior, expressed interest in leading the ship's new squadron. From the available list of inactive Wing II squadrons (Psi, Rho, and Sigma), Antiel chose Rho because it was a relative "blank slate" compared to Sigma (which had been mothballed in 2019) and Psi (which had historical reports and logos on file). Antiel found evidence that a historical Rho Squadron had existed in the past, but he was unable to find any reports, logos, or solid history.

In developing the initial mission and image of Rho Squadron, CMDR Antiel looked to the Imperial squadrons in the original Star Wars trilogy, depicted with gray/blue fighters and black uniforms. When Rho was reactivated, every other TIE Corps squadron consisted of superfighters like the TIE Defender and Missile Boat. Sin Squadron had just earned a signature superfighter, the TIE Sinister, that notably included cupholders and air conditioning. This inspired Antiel to pitch Rho as a throwback to the canonical Imperial mindset: bad guys with expendable ships and pilots and stark black and gray iconography. Antiel told the TCCOM, FA Plif, of his desire for a complement of shieldless TIEs, and Plif helped Antiel decide on the menacing TIE Interceptor. While other squadrons used different fighters for each flight, Antiel followed the examples shown in the films, where squadrons consisted of a dozen of the same fighter.

Rho Squadron was activated on 16 April 2020 with three veteran pilots: [[Trideo Arkson]] and [[Drake Starfire]] as [[Flight Leader|Flight Leaders]] and Hav Antiel as CMDR. They were joined by another returning veteran, [[Jarion Renalds]] on 18 April. Although Trideo Arkson soon went AWOL and Drake Starfire left to command [[Inferno Squadron]], Rho grew, attracting new pilots to fly the TC's only TIE Interceptors. On 21 June 2020, Rho Squadron became full for the first time with 12 active pilots.

Still reeling from his disappointing [[Raise the Flag 2019]] loss as Commodore of the Warrior, Antiel saw 2020's RtF competition as an opportunity to redeem himself and announce his new squadron as real challengers. Rho began preparations for RtF months ahead of its September start date. As preemptive rule changes scuttled some of Rho's strategies, the pilots adapted, developing alternative strategies before finally settling on a familiar formula: single-player SPAM flying.

[[Raise the Flag 2020]] became a three-way contest between Rho, fellow newcomers [[Tempest Squadron]], and five-time winners [[Theta Squadron]]. Rho's SP focus, spearheaded by Antiel, [[Lo Mar]], [[Epicedion]], and [[Frenchie6]], was bolstered by Lo Mar's fiction entries, including his Bonus-winning fiction. At the close of the contest, Rho set a new RtF record with 8,078 points, becoming only the third different squadron to earn the title of TCCOM's Escort Squadron. Four of Rho's pilots ranked among the Top 10, more than any other squadron. For 10 of Rho's 12 pilots, 2020 marked their first-ever Raise the Flag competition. Although Rho's triumph gave the new squadron prestige and enmity, the magnitude of their RtF accomplishment was acknowledged across the TIE Corps.

==History==
===Construction and the Early Days: 8 BBY– 4 ABY===
The keel of the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer SD-KDY-42 was laid down at the Kuat Drive Yards in 8 BBY; one of sixteen ISD hulls that commenced construction in Batch Aleph-2 under then-Moff Tarkin’s expansion of the Navy’s destroyer fleet. Construction of SD-KDY-42 was completed in 16 BBY with shake-down trials completed the following year. In 5 BBY, SD-KDY-42 was officially named the ISD-II Warrior by Admiral Demetrius Zaarin, alongside the Thunderer, Implacable and Stalwart from the same Batch.

The Warrior’s first assignment was to Battlegroup Omar, under command of Captain Tobias Raya, where she performed protective duties of the system’s TIE fighter research and production facilities. Despite the rare pirate incursion and odd scouting mission into neighbouring systems, this would prove a largely uneventful tour for Captain Raya and the rest of the Battlegroup. The momentous, galaxy-shaking events taking place elsewhere Corewards passed by the Omar system with only holonet mentions of the destruction of the first Death Star at the hands of terrorist dissidents.

The relative calm of the system was shattered in 4 ABY, when turncoat Grand Admiral Zaarin – the same who named the Warrior, arrived in system with a fleet to destroy the TIE fighter production facilities. The Battlegroup was outnumbered and outmatched – Zaarin completely destroyed his targets, but not without taking losses. The ensuing fleet engagement saw the destruction of two destroyers, six medium hulls and numerous lighter craft. The Warrior itself did not escape unscathed, suffering heavy hull damage and a loss of over half its fighter and bomber complement. With Omar lost and the Battlegroup in tatters, the Warrior’s Captain gave the order for the ship to flee Corewards in the hope of salvation.

===New Galaxy Order: 4 ABY – 10 ABY===
It took four months for the Warrior to finally limp into the rings of the Kuat Drive Yards for much needed repair and reconstitution. But the Warrior came back to a changed galaxy. The Emperor was dead – slain, according to the rumours, by his own acolyte, the dread Darth Vader who himself then vanished in the aftermath of a second Death Star’s destruction.

The terrorists responsible for setting the galaxy aflame then schemed to set themselves up as the so-called New Republic, claiming authority over all free worlds. The Imperial fleet was in disarray, with Sector Admirals falling back to their own fiefdoms and enclaves. Other Imperial Admirals, sensing the impending chaos, grabbed what they could before setting themselves up as Warlords in their own right. Barely two weeks into a fraught repair schedule, the Warrior received orders to join Admiral Treuten Teradoc in the Centares system, the hub of the Maldrood sector where he was establishing his own dominion. Captain Raya refused, citing the lack of communication and confirmation of orders from high command on Imperial Centre. A day later, under the guise of a routine resupply shuttle, a squad of Stormtroopers boarded the Warrior, breached the ship’s command bridge and gunned down Raya. His XO, Commander Doon, promptly dropped docking anchors and set course for Centares.

On arrival in Centares, the Warrior was quickly absorbed into High Admiral Teradoc’s growing fleet. A new Captain was installed, Rear Admiral Kari Bosch and the hangars took delivery of new fighter craft including a complement of 12 TIE Advanced.

Teradoc promptly put Bosch to task; the Warrior spearheaded Teradoc’s expansion in the wider Maldrood Sector and saw action in numerous fleet engagements with Rebel forces attempting to bring the Warlord to heel. The most significant action took place in 5 ABY over the skies of Togoria, which had joined Teradoc’s Greater Maldrood the previous year. A large conquering Rebel force engaged the system defence fleet; the Warrior and accompanying fleet of four Destroyers was already en route to consolidate Teradoc’s grip on the system and emerged from hyperspace into a full-scale engagement already underway. The action lasted over 18 hours; both sides suffered horrific casualties. Two Star Destroyers were lost with all hands although the Warrior itself suffered only minor damage the loss of 27 fighters. The Rebels were driven off with a bloodied nose and Togoria was saved.

By 8 ABY, the growing rivalry with fellow Warlord, Grand Admiral Zsinj, had erupted into full-scale conflict and for the first time, the guns of the Warrior fired on fellow Imperials. High Admiral Teradoc was growing ever increasingly paranoid and Grand Admiral Thrawn’s failed push for Imperial reclamation in 9 ABY only spurred on Teradoc’s delusions of threat. Bosch, a native of the political power plays of Coruscant, began to grow concerned for the safety of his own position and crew.

===A New Hope: 10 - 29 ABY===
Unbeknownst to the squabbling Warlords of the Core, in the far reaches of the Outer Rim an Imperial Warlord had been slowly, quietly, consolidating his own power and authority; Grand Admiral Ronin. Headquartered in the Aurora System, Ronin had amassed a considerable powerbase of fleets and industrialised planets, staying above the bickering of the Imperial Remnant and keeping Palpatine’s new order alive.

In 10 ABY, High Admiral Kawolski was appointed as Executive Officer of Ronin’s Emperor’s Hammer Strike Fleet. Kawolski was an Imperial Academy classmate of Admiral Bosch. A message was sent to Bosch; it spoke of an opportunity to be part of something close to the Imperial glory of old, absent of politics and power struggles. Towards the close of that year, during a routine visit to one of Teradoc’s supplicant planets, the Warrior suffered a hyperdrive mishap and never emerged from hyperspace.

Bosch had made his play and transferred his loyalty and ship to Grand Admiral Ronin. The Warrior and her complement of crew and fighters was gladly received. Bosch’s first assigned was a lead Destroyer in Battlegroup V as part of the Auroran Homeguard. Not the most taxing of assignments, but Bosch and the ship needed time to develop trust on both sides.

In 18 ABY, the Strike Fleet underwent significant restructure. By now, Bosch had been promoted and made Moff of Hyperion System. Grand Admiral Ronin had retreated to the monastical life on Aurora and Grand Admiral now led the Fleet.
High Admiral Frodo March oversaw the reassignment of the Warrior to the First Recon Division’s Battlegroup II. With the move came a change to the ship’s fighter complement; Wing II now had a diverse range of craft to enable the Warrior’s new mission: Deep Space Depredation. These changes were not all without rancour. The Warrior’s crew had grown complacent with extended Homeguard duty and its new mission needed their edge sharpened. Admiral March, his tasking of overseeing the changes accomplished moved on, and Vice Admiral Plif took over reigns. In a bid to shake off the lethargy and regain the Warrior’s fighting spirit, the ship undertook several deep space offensive strikes against Rebel holdings. The Warrior performed beyond expectations and solidified its reputation as a hard-hitting ship with an exemplary crew.

Over the next few years, the Warrior produced a number of first-class commanding officers who went on to higher echelons within the Fleet, including future TIE Corps Commanders, Admirals Mitchell and Plif. In 29 ABY, freshly minted Rear Admiral Zekk Terrik, took command of the Warrior. Terrik, having proven himself as a ferocious pilot and CO of Sin Squadron, was tasked by Fleet Admiral Plif to bring the Warrior to the forefront of the Fleet’s expansion into the Unknown Regions.

In the past, particularly when the games used by the TIE Corps were newer and the TIE Corps was bigger, the TIE Corps lacked a command staff of its own.

Instead, it was headed by the [[Flight Officer]], a member of the main [[Command Staff]] who was supposedly in charge of the rosters for the whole [[Emperor's Hammer]]. However, due to groups, then known as subgroups, tending to have positions of their own for this role, such as [[Master At Arms]], the Flight Officer found themselves with responsibility for only the rosters of the TIE Corps. This eventually translated into the Flight Officer taking de facto command of the [[TIE Corps]]. [[Kawolski]] was the first FO to use the TCCOM title, a practice which continued until the Flight Officer position was abolished.

Other roles, such as [[Tactical Officer]], again supposedly for the whole fleet found that most of their work in the subgroups was being handled by others. According to the [http://www.emperorshammer.org/tc/downloads/TCPM.pdf TIE Corps Pilot Manual], "The TIE Corps Commander is in overall command of the [[TIE Corps]], and answers to the [[Executive Officer]] of the [[Emperor's Hammer]] Strike Fleet. He bears the ultimate responsibility for the TIE Corps. Aside from keeping a close eye on the general state of the TIE Corps, the TIE Corps Commander is responsible for roster updates, and covering for the [[Strategic Operations Officer]] and the [[Combat Operations Officer]] if they are on leave. The TIE Corps website also falls under his jurisdiction. Although the Battle Center and all it entails (such as the Pilot Kill Board, [[Fleet Commander's Honor Guard]], High Scores listings and new battles) are also in his duties, those duties are usually performed by the Emperor's Hammer [[Tactical Officer]]. The TIE Corps Commander is also considered part of the Emperor's Hammer Command Staff as a [[Group Commanding Officer]]."
