'''Gamma Squadron''' is a fighter squadron commissioned in the [[TIE Corps]] within the [[Emperor's Hammer|Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet]]. It has the distinction of being one of the first six squadrons within the Emperor's Hammer, originally formed as a part of the then-Emperor's Hammer Strike Wing.

==About==
Gamma Squadron is a squadron aboard the Imperial Class Star Destroyer Hammer. We're a young unit and re-establishing ourselves within the Imperial Navy. If you're interested in the challenge of forging a new identity for a legendary squadron then this is the unit for you. Our members play a range of games; the classic TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance as well as newer games like Star Wars Squadrons and EA Battlefronts.

Since our reactivation in the summer of 2022 Gamma Squadron has steadily built up a glowing reputation for activity with our pilots regularly placing highly on the Single Player, Player vs Player and Player vs AI killboards.

 Our first fleet wide competition was Raise the Flag 2022 and Gamma Squadron placed second overall, behind our fellow Wing I stablemates Lambda Squadron and ahead of Thunder Squadron from Wing X.
Several Gamma pilots claimed individual placements, [[Elwood the Brave]] and [[TecGenie]] placed in the top-10 of the TIE Corps and [[Maximus Meridius]] and [[Syntroth]] placed in the top-20 of the TIE Corps.

==Squadron History==
Gamma Squadron made its first appearance on Christmas day 1994 where it appeared in Dark Sentinel #1 as one of the six squadrons in the Emperor’s Hammer Strike Wing stationed onboard the ISD Avenger.
We were originally outfitted as a Close Support Squadron making use of 12 Missile Boats and before the end of 1994 we gained our first Squadron Commander in General Shawshank.
Since then Gamma has remained a staple part of the fleet until a drop in TIE Corps membership numbers in the 2005-2015 period that saw Gamma close down until it’s recent (2022) revival.

When I returned to the TIE Corps as Flight Member in Gamma squadron the TIE Corps was struggling with a bad bureaucratic system and decreasing numbers.

Gamma CMDR back in those days was General [[Daniel Bonini]]. The finest and most likely strongest and most experienced leader I have ever met during my times in the TIE Corps. He was the one that pulled the strings in the background that were meant to change the whole future of the TIE Corps. He pushed forward the restructuring of the TIE Corps bureaucratic system, away from the far to centralized Emperor's Hammer based system to separated and far more efficient TIE Corps own one.

When Fleet Admiral [[Jedi Eclipse]] stepped down from his [[TIE Corps Commander]] position to concentrate on his work as Command Attache of the IO, Daniel Bonini was appointed as TCCOM and High Admiral.

Daniel Bonini's successor as Gamma CMDR was the former Flight Leader of Gamma Flight 2, Colonel [[Mark Schueler]]. New Flight 2 Flight Leader, after Mark Schueler freed up the spot was no other than myself, as MAJ Elwood the Brave back than.

But the good Colonel was too busy and far to involved in the office of the Logistics Officer and thus had to step down from the Gamma CMDR spot after only 4 months in service. And again I followed the good Colonel and became CMDR of Gamma.

During the next 9 months I was allowed to lead Gamma through a time of great unrest and hectic changes for the TIE Corps. Every day new recruits were coming, every day those fresh recruits were dying. Still the TIE Corps numbers were growing and that lead to new squadrons being commissioned within short times. The new threat coming from the huge offensive called "[[Star Conflict]]" drove all the loyal and enthusiastic among the young men within the Emperor's Hammer territories to join our fleet as pilots.

With these growing numbers the [[ISDII Hammer]] soon became crowded and a new ISDII, the Warrior was planned and, after a fantastic short time, commissioned. The crew, or better the squadron commanders, aboard the ISD II Hammer were asked by the [[TIE Corps Commander]], High Admiral Daniel Bonini, which squadron volunteered for the new ISD. About the same time, HA Bonini told me in secret that I would be the future Commodore of the ISDII Hammer and that High Admiral Frodo March would take the command over the [[ISDII Warrior]].

Even though I didn't want to lose those pilots under my command I decided, together with the rest of Gamma squadron, that Gamma should be one of the squadrons that would transfer to the Warrior. When I heard that HA Bonini decided to agree to this transfer, I contacted HA [[Frodo March]] and recommended my most promising pilot in Gamma to be my successor as commander of Gamma, Lt. Commander [[Starkillerny]], Flight Leader of Gamma Flight 2 back than. HA March agreed and, once Gamma was transferred over to then Warrior and renamed to Kappa, Starkillerny was promoted to the rank of CM and appointed as Gamma Commander, while I was appointed as Commodore of the ISD II Hammer and promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral.

From that moment on I knew I would most likely never ever command such a fine and exclusive squadron again. I still look back at those times with a smile on my face and a tear in the eye. We've had great times together in Gamma, I've had great times there. But those times are the past now and it is up to the next generation to lead former Gamma, now [[Kappa Squadron]] into the future.

Origins:

Immortality has a price...

One of the Perpetuals, a group of eternal beings of unknown origin (though it is rumored they were created by an ancient, powerful race, perhaps the Celestials, and some of their powers were artificially induced), his soul and consciousness reincarnated many times across history, his rare presence in the force growing so that its energy, while hidden from force users, still altered his genome and physiology with time, living longer and longer each reincarnation, he'll eventually be rendered effectively immortal due to extremely rapid and efficient cellular regeneration.

Wandering the Galaxy on each reincarnation, traveled among the different peoples of many races. At first an observer of triumphs and follies, soon begun to help where he could, unconsciously and partly using the wisdom, experience and knowledge he acquired on each of his past lives, partly using the skills he was granted. On each reincarnation, he dedicated to help spread efficient government, crop management, animal husbandry, technology and peace. He used his influence carefully, at first adopting only the guise of a normal man, and when his lifespan became longer, he acted without revealing his true nature, sometimes adopting the persona of a great leader or advisor. Despite his best efforts to promote peace and harmony across Coruscant first, and then the Galaxy at large, the instinctive values of martial honor, ambition, defiance, and self-satisfaction could never be eradicated from living beings and specially, from humanoid character. Fearful of being discovered, he didn't hesitate to make difficult, even immoral decisions to ensure his survival until he could fulfill his self-imposed quest to save living beings. Sometimes this meant going into self exile and once this happened, he was quickly forsaken.

Some of his plans proved less than successful; seeds of wisdom often failed to flourish or grew into uncontrollable monstrosities leading to eras of persecution and war. He realized humanity needed law, order and the guidance of a ruler to reach its full potential. He hoped for the sith , the Jedi, even the Mandalorians to bring this order. Each live he came to same conclusions and sought law and order and on his current reincarnation, he saw this order finally coming with the Galactic Empire.

=A bit about RL Profile=

Since I don't mind talking a bit about me, I'll add some information for context. By the time of writing this, I'm a 40 years old mechanical engineer, martial artist, amateur musician and sci-fi nerd hailing from Caracas, Venezuela (UTC: -4). I worked on the state-owned local city Metro (specializing on Non-Destructive testing with Ultrasonic probes of the rail system) and the equally state-owned national-wide phone company where I worked on energy/HVAC systems. This led me to work in projects, monitoring & control and operations & management, developing a taste for goal-oriented management of maintenance systems.

Since 2018 I worked as freelance consultor on energy/HVAC applications for DataCenters and Cryptocurrency digital mining operations.

Despite having multiple experiences over the years, I'm still looking towards having my own family. This has brought some good and some very bad moments in life but I got over it with time. I carry the memories with me.

Currently I decided to live with my parents (a common trend on Latin American countries) and focus on my side projects: music, martial arts - being kung fu the main martial art I've been training since '92 and after a years-long pause, resumed it since 2001. I train with empty hand and melee weapons such as single and double daos, short and long sticks and others.

I have engineering projects I'd like to work in (once my life has been sorted) in areas such as energy conversion, supply chain and transport. I aim to work as an independent researcher , hoping to locally produce technology that helps humanity.

I joined EH on '06 roughly on Iota Squadron , ISDII: Colossus, serving as CMDR for a while. A 10 year hiatus followed since '08 to 2018, when I returned to active service on Alpha becoming its CMDR since then.

Since I was a kid, I remember mom wanted me to be a fan of SW and bought me one day a SW flight sim...she wanted me to be a fan of the rebels. But she bought me TIE. It was instant love. I became a fan of the game and the series, with me experimenting the thrill of the challenges XvT offered and becoming part of a local club where I learned to do MP to an extent. Then I joined the fun on XWA and the MSN Gaming Zone back in '99 and participated in events such as BSC's WoW (and I managed to win at least one WoW, which granted me a DFC as Ii wn it flying for the EH).

I'm a bit cynical and prone to depression but I can be motivated and goal-oriented with a passion if I see a purpose to it. I believe in training, discipline, skill and morals and I do use science as a tool as well.

My PC was built in 2017 and bought the best hardware I could. I can proudly say despite its age, it can run games like SWS, BF2 or the new Jedi games. I managed to get Win11 working here and customized it. I have one OS for games and another one for work.

I love SW, ST, B5, BSG and Sci-fi in general. The XW series, SWR, FC, EaW, GBG and DF are my favorites on SW. BC, STA are my favorite ST games. IFH is a B5 game I love with Crusader series, Total War, IL2 Sturmovik. F1 Racing and Doom being my other non SW favorites.

Recently, I rediscovered my interest, motivation and love for the EH and I intend to keep the flame of the classics burning so I will do my best to incentivize all aspects of the classics (SP, PvE, PvP, mods) on the club, also learning how to best lead the squadron and make additional contributions such as possible IU courses and submitting missions on the compendium.
