The Shadow Academy

Originally the Shadow Academy was a sole campus attached to the Dark Hall on Aurora Prime, but as time progressed and the Dark Brotherhood expanded it was seen that sending students to study at Aurora Prime was both time consuming and a major security risk for the Dark Council. After some time it was decided by former Headmaster Mejas Doto to separate the Shadow Academy into four campuses. The Campus of General Studies, Campus of the Sith, Campus of the Krath and Campus of the Obelisk. The General Studies Campus has taken over the original campus provided at the Dark Hall, and also contains the offices of the Headmaster, Praetor to the Headmaster and Magistrate to the Headmaster. Due to the size of the original campus it was seen that an additional campus could be used, thus the Krath Campus was given the second half of the old campus. The Sith Campus was ordered to be developed aboard the Super Star Destroyer Avenger and the Obelisk Campus was moved and developed on their base word of Kaiburr.

The Redevelopment of the Shadow Academy

The structure and use of the Shadow Academy remained the same for nearly fifteen years after its construction by Mejas Doto, this all changed on 25ABY when Headmaster Destavol Gin was appointed. Destavol was a close friend of Mejas and had studied closely under him both while he as a Headmaster and while he as a Consul, but the two had very different ideas and Destavol felt that the Academy had become to far spaced for a Brotherhood of such small size. So he ordered the redevelopment and construction of the new Shadow Academy on Aurora Prime.

Destavol moved the Academy away from its original home in the underground Dark Hall, and had a large academy built on the surface of the planet distancing it quite a way from the Dark Hall. Destavol felt that such an amassed amount of Dark Side users gave off an echo in the force for all to hear and in many ways he was correct. The new academy, like the one before it, would hold four campuses for Dark Jedi but all four would be on or near Aurora Prime where the Headmaster would have more direct control and could supervise them easier. The main hall for Shadow Academy would house the office's of the Head Master, his Praetor and Magistrate, as well as any Pontiffs that taught there. Any and all General Studies would be taught and learned there by the Headmaster himself, or by his Praetor/Magistrate. Nearby to the north of the main hall the Krath Campus was developed, and was renamed to Campus de Mejas to honor one of the greatest Headmaster's to ever serve, Mejas Doto. To the west of the main hall the Obelisk Campus was developed and renamed to Campus de Mandaala in honor of one of the greatest Heralds to ever serve. The Sith Campus was divided into two installations, one on the ground and the other on a platform above the planet, it itself was built to the east of the main hall and named Campus de Rapier in honor of one of the Brotherhood's Grand Masters.

Most of these campuses were developed using a mixture of decommissioned Star Destroyers, old campus buildings, and decommissioned platforms and new technology allowing for a respectable yet affordable construction. Destavol himself provided a numerous amount of credits he had earned over his years of service with the fleet to help construct this new monolith of dark side teachings, and spared no expense to make the new Shadow Academy something that stood as a symbol of pride and glory for the Brotherhood.
