The Shadow Academy
Originally the Shadow Academy was a sole campus attached to the Dark Hall on Aurora Prime, but as time progressed and the Dark Brotherhood expanded it was seen that sending students to study at Aurora Prime was both time consuming and a major security risk for the Dark Council. After some time it was decided by former Headmaster Mejas Doto to separate the Shadow Academy into four campuses. The Campus of General Studies, Campus of the Sith, Campus of the Krath and Campus of the Obelisk. The General Studies Campus has taken over the original campus provided at the Dark Hall, and also contains the offices of the Headmaster, Praetor to the Headmaster and Magistrate to the Headmaster. Due to the size of the original campus it was seen that an additional campus could be used, thus the Krath Campus was given the second half of the old campus. The Sith Campus was ordered to be developed aboard the Super Star Destroyer Avenger and the Obelisk Campus was moved and developed on their base word of Kaiburr.
The Redevelopment of the Shadow Academy
The structure and use of the Shadow Academy remained the same for nearly fifteen years after its construction by Mejas Doto, this all changed on 25ABY when Headmaster Destavol Gin was appointed. Destavol was a close friend of Mejas and had studied closely under him both while he as a Headmaster and while he as a Consul, but the two had very different ideas and Destavol felt that the Academy had become to far spaced for a Brotherhood of such small size. So he ordered the redevelopment and construction of the new Shadow Academy on Eos. Shortly after his appointment to Headmaster, Destavol planned and carried out the construction of the new Shadow Academy on Eos. He began with development of the Campus de Vah where the Castle of Shadows was placed and reconstructed to perform as the headquarters for the Shadow Academy. Along with being the headquarters Campus de Vah is also the main campus for all General Studies within the Dark Brotherhood. Along with this campus and the Castle of Shadows, the other campuses were renamed and brought back closer to Eos.
Campus de Vah - Campus of General Brotherhood Studies
The Campus de Vah was named after Grand Master Czulvang Vah by Headmaster Destavol Gin on 25ABY. This is the main campus for the Shadow Academy, and houses the actual Castle of Shadows itself. Along with the castle of Shadows, it also houses eighteen other smaller buildings which provide the several differentclassrooms and offices for the students and staff of the Shadow Academy. The Headmaster himself spends most of his time at Campus de Vah as this is where all General Studies are taught. All new Initiates to the Dark Brotherhoodare given temporary housing and study at Campus Vah.
Campus de Vader - Campus of Historical Studies
The Campus de Vader is actually directly behind Campus de Vah. It is the smallest of the five, which is why it is tied so close to the Castle. It, like the Campus de Vah is surrounded by the massive wall giving it a great protection from any invasion. There are nine buildings on Campus de Vader, the largest being the Whispering Library where nearly all knowledges collected by the Dark Brotherhood is kept safe. There are five floors to the whispering library, only the first two are permitted to everyone the third is for Journeymen, the fourth to equites and elders, and the fifth reserved for the Dark Council only. The Campus de Vader was named after the first Grand Master of record, Kane Vader and is the second of the five campuses to be developed.
Campus de Mandaala - Campus of Obelisk Studies
The Campus de Mandaala is named after Kaine Mandaala, a former Herald of the Dark Brotherhood. This campus in particular is specialized for the Order of the Obelisk. It is located a good distance from the Castle of Shadows to the west. This campus contains nine buildings including a very large dome used solely for combat between Dark Jedi. Though some of the courses taught here require desk work, most of the materials taught and learned at the Mandaala Campus require physical combat or hands on training.
Campus de Doto - Campus of Krath Studies
The Campus de Doto is named after Mejas Doto, a former Headmaster of the Dark Brotherhood. The Doto Campus is specialized for the Order of the Krath. It is here where the force in all of its aspects is heavily focused upon. This is the largest campus of the Shadow Academy, and it is located to the south of the Castle of Shadows. The campus houses twelve buildings, three of which are Krath specific libraries, and two being Alchemistry buildings.
Campus de Rapier - Campus of Sith Studies
The Campus de Rapier is named after Rapier, a former Grand Master of the Dark Brotherhood. The Rapier Campus is specialized for the Order of the Sith. It is divided into two different areas, unlike the other campuses. On Aurora Prime is a small campus which gives housing to Pontiff Offices, and a few classrooms. There are five buildings total, but to make up for this the Campus de Rapier is also built up by an orbital Platform which orbits around the planet. The platform is where most of the Sith training takes place.
The Castle of Shadows
The Castle of Shadows is the new home of the Shadow Academy. It is a massive eighteen story tall castle which gives housing and offices to all of the staff of the SA. The castle was originally one of the old castles found on Eos. The castle was mostly in reasonable shape until it was transported from Eos to Aurora Prime, where it was nearly destroyed due to an equipment malfuction on the transported which released the castle while it was still in the air. The castle was originally going to be used for the Royal Guard, but due to the damages it was abandoned. Nearly five years after its crash to the planet's surface, the Dark Council had been secretly funding the rebuilding effort of the castle so that it could be used once again. Upon his appointment to Headmaster Destavol Gin donated a massive amount of credits to restructure of the castle. Originally made of a special stone that is no longer available, the caste had to be rebuilt using decommisioned Star Destroyers, Platforms, and other old temples and castles that served no general purpose to the Brotherhood.
After its completion Destavol had the castle equipped with the best technology afforded to the Brotherhood, and had a massive wall built around the castle for further protection. Even after its construction the Castle was largely unstable and was considered at the point of collapse at any moment, but this was halted by the use of Krath and Sith magic to strengthen the old stone, and bond the metals to the stone making it all a solid structure once again. Its appearance is twisted, and dark. The architects did their best but the castle leans and curves in some areas making it look as evil as its dwellers. The first ten floors are permitted to all members of the Dark Brotherhood, but the top eight are reserved for the staff only.
