The VSD-II Warhammer
The VSD-II Warhammer has served the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet since its start. The vessel for the longest time served as an attached support ship to the SSSD Sovereign, aside from a few side roles in service with the Dark Brotherhood and Clan Alvaak. More recently the vessel was selected to serve as the mobile office, and means of transport for the Logistics Officer. Her destination varies nearly weekly due to the required travel in collecting logistics from all around the fleet's territories
The Logistic Officer's Choice
Upon his appointment to the position of Logistics Officer, Rear Admiral Aticus Isaac Jade was granted permission to take out any craft deemed necessary for his operations. While the Warhammer IS NOT the official Flagship of the Logistics Office, it is the preferred vessel of Aticus Jade for most all of his operations. The Warhammer was not the original selection for use of a mobile Logistics Office, this was in fact originally the MC-90 Fear, which from time to time is called upon by Rear Admiral Jade for his operations. However due to the major role that the Fear plays in the defense of the Karana System, Aticus only calls upon the Fear in the most important of tasks.
It took two weeks to reform the VSD-II Warhammer to better perform Logistics tasks, upgrades included a Large Imperial Library, Access to ALL Fleet Coordinates, along with multiple personal upgrades to the LO and LO Staff quarters including a Private Meeting Chamber, Personal Library and increased size of Living Quarters and Office. Further more, once the Warhammer was approved for use by the Fleet Commander, Aticus personally requested and appointed many of the ships key crew and command staff. This included Colonel Talon Jade being appointed as the Ship Captain and Krayt Jade being appointed as the Master At Arms. These members undoubtedly shaped the current crew to hold some of the fleets more experienced crewmen and pilots. This in addition to the support groups that travel with the Warhammer make even the Logistic Officer's small operating force capable of defending itself, and if need be capable of holding off a large attack long enough for the VSD-II Warhammer to escape unharmed.
Logistic Operations
The VSD-II Warhammer is typically the main ship seen performing operations for the Logistics Office. The wording can be decieving however, obtaining history and records can often be a very dangerous task, and as such the Warhammer and her support are ready to take what is not given peacefully. On most occasions the sight of the VSD-II Warhammer, M/CRV Group Antaganizer, and CRV Group Agonizer exiting hyperspace and positioning around the destination is enough to make even the most experience of leaders offer the key to the city to the Logistics Officer, however from time to time engagements are unavoidable. Aside from the standard armaments on the Warhammer and her supporting vessels, two highly trained squadrons of TIE Defenders and TIE Shadows are ready to deploy at all times.
Much of the LO work is actually done IN the ship due to the safety it provides to all of the VIP stationed there, but when need be there is a full armament of Stormtroopers is ready at all times to deploy planetside with the LO staff. Operations are commonly peaceful when in more populated areas of the EH Territories, but dangers from raiding pirate forces, rebel forces, and even rogue imperial forces do seem to arise more frequently when the Warhammer travels to more remote areas. Already the Warhammer has an impressive service record for her newly assigned task within the fleet, and she holds steady and bold as the safe point of operations during Rear Admiral Jade's tenure as Logistics Officer.
The Squadrons
Like any other Star Destroyer in the fleet the Warhammer is equipped with two squadrons which perform multiple roles while on operations throughout the EH Territories. These include but are not limited to Recon, Patrol, Pacification, Deep Strike, and Stealth operations. Each of the squadrons were hand selected by Colonel Talon Jade soon after his appointment as Ship Captain. Below are the details of both squadrons aboard the VSD-II Warhammer
Axis Squadron
Squadron Commander : LCM Aaron C. Xanders
- Flight One - TIE Defender
- Flight Two - TIE Shadow
- Flight Three - TIE Defender
Axis Squadron is by default tasked with the roles of Patrol & Pacification.
Gallio Squadron
Squadron Commander = CM Raymond K. Tyros
- Flight One - TIE Shadow
- Flight Two - TIE Shadow
- Flight Three - TIE Shadow
Gallio Squadron is by default tasked with Stealth Recon & Patrol
Support Vessels
To aide the VSD-II Warhammer in her exploits throughout the EH Territories are the M/CRV Group Antagonizer and the CRV Group Agonizer. These groups do not always travel with the Warhammer, and rarely travel all at once with her. Typically the Warhammer will take one vessel of each group to travel with her. The size of the force is generally determined by how dangerous the voyage and task at hand is. Only once has the entire Logistics Task Group been assembled in one location for an operation, and the results were a very fast and peaceful treaty. While the entire force may not travel WITH the Warhammer, it is never to far behind - always within a 1 to 2 hour jump to the Warhammer. The most common grouping is the VSD-II Warhammer, M/CRV Antagonizer 1, and CRV Agonizer 1 and 2.
