The Distinguished Service Medal is awarded for services towards the Directorate for extended periods of time. The officer must be, as the medal is named, distinguished from their fellow officers through consistent activity and communication within their immediate planet, system, or sector. Any officer of the Ministry Council may award the Distinguished Service Medal.
