Groups Within the Emperor's Hammer

The Emperor's Hammer has existed as an overarching organization since 1994. Throughout the decades it has expanded and constricted by way of different Groups. These were formerly known as Subgroups before being reorganized as simply Groups to remove the impression that one group was lesser than another.

Notable groups within the Emperor's Hammer include:

  • The TIE Corps
  • The Emperor's Hammer Dark Brotherhood
  • The Hammer's Fist
  • The Infiltrator Wing
  • The Bounty Hunter's Group
  • The Directorate

Each group has its own unique culture, activities, positions, ranks, and awards. While each has served its own unique purpose they have all contributed to the overall Emperor's Hammer.

Creating a New Group

The Emperor's Hammer encourages its members to explore new group ideas, or the resurrection of previous groups. To ensure that these groups are stable and have the best opportunity to succeed the Fleet Commander, Grand Admiral Rapier, has set forth the following rules for opening discussion with him.

  1. A 6 month plan for recruitment, growth, and activity
  2. 25+ membership count - mostly comprised of non-existing Emperor's Hammer members
  3. A commitment by the petitioner to serve as leader of the group for 1 year

Recruitment, Growth, and Activity Plan

This should be a well thought out plan detailing where, and how, you will seek out new members that would desire to participate in your group. How you will continue and sustain that growth over time as the typical member engagement is 6 months to 2 years.

Most importantly, what activity will be undertaken. How will it differ from the other, existing, groups and what do you require to manage and administer those activities. This is critical as the Internet Officer's staff has limited availability to create new infrastructure and such projects will need to be prioritized.

25+ Membership Count

At the height of the Emperor's Hammer we boosted a 5,000+ strong roster. However, peaking under the covers, you'd find that many of those records were duplicates. It was common for a single individual to be in the TIE Corps, Hammer's Fist, Infiltrator Wing, and Emperor's Hammer Dark Brotherhood.

This led to burnout and a diminished quality of work as individuals focused on one or two of the groups they were in at a time.

To prevent this, any new group requires the majority of their 25+ members to come from non-Emperor's Hammer members. We recognize that a core group will originate from within but we do not want to diminish another group's ability to function to stand up a new one.

1 Year Service Commitment

Starting a new group is labor intensive. From preparing the structure, activities, and overall plan to the Fleet Commander's satisfaction, to finding and recruiting new members, there is a considerable amount of activity that will rest upon you, the petitioner, to get a new group started.

The need for a 1 year service commitment is to ensure that once the group is started that there is a consistency in direction. This will be a critical time for a new group and often the momentum that is being established can falter and fail if the leader leaves.

Process and Next Steps

Often you'll have numerous consultations with the Fleet Commander and/or Imperial Sovereign Protector as you're working on the three critical requirements for a new group to be opened. Once the above criteria has been met a formal review will be established with the Fleet Commander for formal approval.

If approved, the group will be able to open operate and function within the Emperor's Hammer. If further revision is required the consultations will continue until approval can be granted.
