Jarek La'an is a former Strategic Operations Officer, Communications Officer, Flight Officer, TC-COM, TC-SOO and Judge Advocate General of the EH, in addition to his role as Assistant and Command Attache to the Flight Officer and several positions in the subgroups, under a variety of guises. He has also served as Commodore of the ISD Relentless, ISD Subjugator and ISD Vanguard, Wing Commander of Wing IX, as well as having commanded Phantom, Crossbow, Shield and Green Squadron. La'an is currently a Flight Member for Beta Squadron in Wing I.

TIE Corps

La'an started his training as a CT of Charlie Company in April of 2003, being placed within Phantom Squadron of the ISD Immortal after completing his basic flight training. Serving as FM and then FL he was appointed Phantom CMDR in the last months of 2003, the precise dates having been lost due to the database crash of the same date. Upon the closure of the Immortal in May of 2004 he was able to take the remaining members of Phantom to Wing IX of the ISD Relentless, becoming CMDR of the newly opened Crossbow Squadron.

After a three month stint as Crossbow CMDR, advancing to the rank of Major after earning his Captaincy with Phantom, La'an was appointed Wing Commander of Wing IX, under the vessel's Commodore, Thorin Oakenshield. It was that officer's resignation and expulsion that La'an was then able, after ten weeks as Wing Commander and earning promotion to Lieutenant Colonel , to become RelCOM and Rear Admiral, a position he held for the five months following. He resigned his position in March of 2005 citing time constraints.

A brief period in the RSVs saw La'an return to a line squadron, losing his rank of Rear Admiral and becoming a COL within Thunder Squadron aboard the ISD Challenge. His time there was even shorter, returning to the ISD Relentless to command Shield Squadron for the next five months.

This tour was followed by his assignment as Commodore of the ailing ISD Vanguard in July of 2005. Although only in the position for three months he regained his Rear Admiral rank and was able to increase activity levels markedly. After three months he was appointed COMM in October of 2005, having served as COMMA to the previous incumbent, Joey C, for the previous two months.

He served as COMM for a total of nine months, reaching the ranks of Vice Admiral and then full Admiral. He stepped down at the end of July 2006, again citing time constraints, having secured a replacment in the form of Sirik Xirok. This was followed by his longest period off active service, although continuing to act as an Envoy of the Advanced Guard and PROF, in addition to subgroup positions.

The opening of the MC80B Redemption provided an ideal opportunity for La'an to return to a line squadron, assuming command of Green Squadron in October of 2006, again surrendering his Admiral rank. Although only in command for ten weeks Green Squadron was able to achieve the honour of being named TCCOM's Escort Squadron, beating the Praetorian Elite Squadron into a rare second place.

After this short but rewarding tour La'an was appointed to the current position of Command Attache, acting as an assistant and agent of the Flight Officer, HA Frodo March, regaining the rank of Vice Admiral. In the first week of 2007 he was also appointed Judge Advocate General of the EH. He continued to hold both positions, in addition to his continuing role as COMMA in the absence of a COMM.

As of May 2007 La'an was reappointed to the position of COMM with the rank of VA, starting his second tenure. Promoted to AD in July of the same year, he continued to serve in this role, with an alternate profile for his JAG position (TC Pin #12488), until late March 2008. During July of the same year he surrendered the position of JAG, assuming a new role as FOA to the Flight Officer and serving in this role until assuming the Flight Officer position in September 2008, with promotion to Fleet Admiral, and serving as FO until the change in nomenclature in November 2008, becoming the first TCCOM of a restructured TC. La'an continued to serve as TCCOM during a particularly difficult period, but due to increasing RL commitments was forced once again to step down from a command position, doing so in May of 2009. Following this period he served as COL in a line squadron, able to contribute very little to the TC, but maintaining involvement.

Returning to the TC as SOO, the position he had introduced as 2 I/C to the TCCOM, he served in another difficult period between August 2011 - February 2012. With a declining TC in numbers and activity this was possibly the most difficult period in which he had held a command position. Once again with RL commitments he was unable to maintain this position and has since stepped down and served as FM, then FL, in Flight III of Delta Squadron.

Awards of note include a Gold Star for his time as COMM and a Silver Star for his tour as Shield CMDR.
