Overview

The Medal of Communication is a Service in the Emperor's Hammer. The current system of awards was introduced under Admiral Jarek La'an, based on the system of JoeyC. The Training Manual states that 'The Medal of Communication is awarded to members who make the required individual and pertinent posts on the all the main Emperor's Hammer Message Boards, and is recommended by the Communications Office.'However the new system has not yet been added to the Training Manual.

Currently MoCs are awarded on a monthly basis after reccomendations are made to the Communications Office by COMs/WCs or Elite CMDRs, usually as part of the MWE. If a candidates level of communications has been consistently high they are awarded a Medal of Communication. The first award is of the Bronze Oak Cluster - with every third award a new cluster is acquired. Essentially the pattern is as follows...

Bronze-Bronze-Silver-Bronze-Bronze-Gold-Bronze-Bronze-Platinum-Bronze-Bronze-Diamond

Therefore a Diamond Oak Cluster effectively acts as a reward for an entire years communications, assuming that every month a candidate is reccomended and awarded a MoC of the corresponding and correct cluster.
