UNDER CONSTRUCTION - Star Wars Calendars & Timelines[edit]

Calendars have been an important tool to measure time for many civilizations throughout history, and the Star Wars universe is no exception. In the galaxy far, far away, there are different calendars used by different factions, cultures, and planets. In this study, we will analyze and relate the Galactic Standard Calendar (GSC), Coruscant Standard Calendar (CSC), Imperial Standard Calendar (ISC), Gregorian calendar, and the Galactic Timeline.

The Galactic Standard Calendar[edit]

The Galactic Standard Calendar (GSC) is the most widely used calendar in the Star Wars universe. It is based on the Coruscant Standard Calendar (CSC), which was based on the local year of Coruscant, the capital planet of the Galactic Republic and later the Galactic Empire. The GSC has a standard year of 365 days, with an extra day added every four years for leap years. It was used by the Galactic Republic, the Galactic Empire, and the New Republic, among others.

The Coruscant Standard Calendar[edit]

The Coruscant Standard Calendar (CSC) was widely used by the Galactic Republic and the Galactic Empire, as well as many other worlds in the galaxy. It was based on a standard year of 365 days, with an extra day added every four years for leap years.

The Imperial Standard Calendar[edit]

The Imperial Standard Calendar (ISC) was used by the Empire of the Hand and later the Fel Empire. It was based on a standard year of 368 days, with a leap year occurring every four years.

The Gregorian Calendar[edit]

The Gregorian Calendar is the most widely used calendar in Earth today. It is a solar-based calendar, with a standard year of 365 days, and an extra day added every four years for leap years. It was introduced by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582 and has been adopted by many countries around Planet Earth.

The Galactic Timeline[edit]

The Galactic Timeline is a specialized calendar adopted by the Emperor's Hammer organization. It is based on the Galactic Standard Calendar (GSC) but has some modifications to fit the organization's lore and narrative. The Galactic Timeline has 365 days in a standard year and an additional "Day of the Hammer" added to the end of each year, which is not part of the standard GSC.

All of these calendars have their unique features, but they share some similarities. The GSC and CSC are both based on the standard year of 365 days, with an extra day added every four years for leap years. The ISC has a standard year of 368 days, with a leap year occurring every four years. The Gregorian calendar, like the GSC and CSC, has a standard year of 365 days, with an extra day added every four years for leap years.

Conclusion[edit]

In conclusion, the different calendars used in the Star Wars universe show us that measuring time is crucial for societies and their organization. The GSC, CSC, ISC, Gregorian calendar, and Galactic Timeline are all ways to achieve this goal, but each one has its unique features and purposes. While the GSC and CSC are more widely used in the Star Wars universe, the ISC and Galactic Timeline serve specific groups and purposes. The Gregorian calendar is the most widely used in the world today, and it is interesting to see how it compares to the calendars used in the Star Wars universe.
