System Manual:Desalmado

From Emperor's Hammer Encyclopaedia Imperia

The planet of Desalmado is located in a far, uncharted area of the Lyarna System when Alliance and Imperial scouts discovered it. Having a highly erratic orbit they branded it an absolutely useless place to colonise. Many years after the fateful Battle of Endor, a group of bounty hunters were travelling through the area looking for a recently displaced attaché of their Grand Master, when they happened upon the planet to stop and look around.

Details[edit]

It has been heavily recorded when the bounty hunters met the Desalmadons. The Desalmadons were a farming people, cool and relaxed, but they had a very wild and mischievous side to them. They welcomed the hunters to their home, but were very cautious. The last thing they wanted was military force from the Emperor's Hammer Fleet...they may have been located in a far, lonely area of space, but even the reputation of the Emperor's Hammer had reached their ears. It was soon decided that the planet would provide agricultural goods to the Fleet, and that the planet be colonised.

The minor planet was divided into 25 provinces, each ruled by a governor appointed by the Hammer. The main city on the planet is the Port Royal, in the Grand Province, and is a bustling spaceport and command centre for the Chief Governor. The city attracts interstellar commerce as well as all sorts of spacers looking for rest and relaxation after a long haul. The vast number of aliens and humans constantly moving through the spaceport, and it's foundation by bounty hunters, make the city a haven for all types of thieves, pirates, and smugglers. The city's old central section is laid out like a wheel, while the newer sections are formed into straight blocks of buildings. Instead of having a central landing area, the entire city is the spaceport, with crater-like docking bays scattered throughout Port Royal. Other principal cities include Mos Ariel and Trench Town. Desalmado's two moons, Cuero and Desalmado Poco, are inhabitable and stale, overgrown asteroids. Many of the scum that come to the planet that are hiding from the law attempt to fly into one of the moon's holes to hide their ships. Unfortunately, too many of them don't make it, and end up chunks floating in space.

Cuero[edit]

Cuero is a barren rocky planet with no resources of any kind, its only purpose being harsh mountain environment training. For all other purposes it is nothing more than a gigantic rock in space. However it is rumoured that the KWI does extensive weapons testing on Cuero, as there is no ecosystem in danger of destruction. These rumours remain of yet unconfirmed.

Desalmado Poco[edit]

Desalmado Poco is an odd mix of several terrain types, making it a fairly dynamic planet ideally suited to intergalactic commerce. Although only heavily populated in the city of Port Royal, the planet is covered by countless small mining and manufacturing cities that each specialises in production of whatever form of resources available to them. While these cities, indeed the entire industry on Desalmado Poco is fairly uninteresting to the average hunter; the profits earned by these endeavours help support the BHG as a whole.
