Tactical Manual: Rewards

From Emperor's Hammer Encyclopaedia Imperia

Overview[edit]

No one works for free. That's why the Tactical Office has set some rules about awards given to its members. These are Emperor's Hammer medals that can be earned only for services in Tactical Office, custom mission submission and any other Tactical Office related things. Service medals are generally earned for the specified amount of work done, while hammers are earned for each single submission of battle and mission.

Medal of Tactics[edit]

The Medal of Tactics is awarded by the Tactical Officer to members who create an EH Battle Center approved battle or free mission.

  • For every approved Free Mission, the Medal of Tactics - Green Hammer is awarded.
  • For every approved Battle, the Medal of Tactics - Red Hammer is awarded. Multiple Red Hammers are awarded for longer battles in 5-mission increments: 4-8 missions awards 1 Red Hammer, 9-13 missions awards 2 Red Hammers, etc
  • For every non-flying platform mission there is a Yellow Hammer.
  • For every 5 missions a Tactician or Tactical Coordinator corrects, the Medal of Tactics - Blue Hammer is awarded. A Blue Hammer may also be awarded to participants of bug correction projects.

Commendation of Service[edit]

The Commendation of Service may be awarded to any Emperor's Hammer member who submits an approved plotline to a single player battle. For a plotline to be eligible it must at a minimum include:

  • Story Overview: An overarching story for the battle as a whole and each individual mission that details the battle/mission setting and broad plot strokes
  • Factions: Description of all major Factions involved, their motivations, and relationships.
  • Key Flight Groups: Explanation of the player and important AI groups, including their roles and objectives.
  • Mission Objectives: Goals that would be set in the game for primary and secondary completion
  • In-flight messages: Notes on messages that could be used in the mission
  • Briefing: Notes on any briefing content that would be seen before/after the mission

The plotline must also comply with the standards set forth for a battle in the Tactical Manual. In particular, it must include at least four missions, have appropriate content and be related to the Emperor’s Hammer, and technically possible within the constraints of the available game engines.

Submission Process[edit]

  • Submission Format: Plotlines should be submitted in a written format (document, PDF, or website) by email to the Tactical Officer.
  • Co-authors: Multiple members may be credited and awarded as co-authors for the plotline. In this case, the submission should include a note of each author’s contribution. The submitter will be taken to be the lead author and authorized representative.
  • License: By submitting a plotline, the authors are sharing a resource with the Emperor’s Hammer. For a period of six months after submission, the lead author has the right to approve anyone proposing to implement the plotline as a battle. After this time, the plotline is freely available. This is intended to allow members of a unit to collaborate on a plot for a competition and subsequently attempt to create the battle "in-house", but without letting them hold onto it forever. Extensions may be granted at the discretion of the Tactical Office.

If accepted, the plotline will be added to the Approved Battle Scripts of the Emperor’s Hammer Encyclopedia Imperia after the period of exclusively has elapsed, or sooner if so wished by the authors. If the plotline is implemented as a battle, it will be marked as such in the wiki.

The Tactical Officer reserves the right to deny the awarding of a CoS even if the requirements are met.

Beta Points[edit]

Tacticians and Tactical Surveyors use a β points system, while Tactical Coordinators and Head Coordinators are awarded on an individual basis. Tacticians and Tactical Surveyors who have rendered their services to the Tactical Office for a prolonged period of time can be awarded several merit medals for these services. This can be an Imperial Security Medal all the way up to Bronze and Silver Stars of the Empire. In exceptional cases, at the TAC's discretion, a Tactician or Tactical Surveyor may even be awarded a Gold Star of the Empire for his work in the Tactical Office.

Awards to the CA:TAC are considered on an individual basis, and may be either with promotions or medal awards, up to and including the Medal of Honor with the Fleet Commander's approval.

The Tactical Officer may also recommend members of his staff for special awards like Commendation of Loyalty.
