Talk:Typhoon Squadron
As is my custom for wiki pages on this wiki, I've tried to produce a mix of in-universe and out-of-universe, describing real life events in a in-universe manner. This page probably leans more out-of-universe than in-universe though.
Sources for command history and related events comes from the old newsletters (specifically, the rosters (where available), squadron reports, and, when absolutely necessary, submitted fiction), the current database, information on the ISD Challenge website, and even this wiki.
The known "dark" spots that I've done my best to work around include:
- Loss of roster for NL 37 until NL 76 (with a few exceptions)
- No Newsletters starting around 2005
- Loss of data in TIE Corps database for first half of 2004 due to website outage
- Loss of data in TIE Corps database due to Astatine terrorism
In some cases, I have pulled explicitly from information I could uncover from my personal collection of IRC logs (covering much of 2001 - 2006). I acknowledge the inherent weakness in some of this data.
While I tried hard to verify the reasoning behind why Typhoon Squadron changed to the VIP Escort designation, the best source I could find was an IRC log of myself telling someone the tale in 2003. I admit that this is hardly an ideal source, but it is all I could uncover on the topic.
To the best of my ability, I've avoided listing anything purely from memory, as that has proven to be somewhat inaccurate.
I've also tried my best to remove any personal bias regarding any of these events, and have hopefully listed things in a manner that is fair to everyone.
