Zyrax' impact on Kappa Squadron already showed on the very first day, as his appearance made Kappa's roster full for the first and only time in its history so far. Since then, he played a crucial role in flying competitions, and his web design skills were often beneficial to the squad, too. His online time is second to none, as you can hardly get into Airlock 54 and not meet him there.
Many people in the TC will remember Zyrax as the guy who got himself demoted. After Zyr reached the rank of LCM in July 2002, he stated that he liked the rank of LT much better, and he actually succeeded in talking the WC and FO/TCCOM in putting him back to the rank of Lieutenant. It will give you some hint at of what kind of officer we are talking about. :)
However, Zyr finally had to give up his fancy LT rank when he stepped up to take over the CMDR position from Tempest in February of 2004.
