Kal Vau was born on Coruscant in 0ABY. He joined the Hammers Fist at the age of 19. Kal currently holds the rank of Second Lieutenant and holds the position of Platoon Commander of the Redemption Platoon.

Character History

Childhood and Birth

Kal Vau is a Mandalorian. He was born and raised on Coruscant by his Mother, Arla, and Father, Bralor. They were exiled from Mandalorian society when it was believed that they had betrayed their clan. As a result, Kal was brought up in hiding on Coruscant, although his parents continued to raise him as a Mandalorian child, teaching him the art of combat from a young age. Kal lost contact with his parents after his 13th Birthday, the went to the shops and never returned.

Hammers Fist

Kal sought a way to fight honourably as with all Manadlorians, and after doing various pieces of mercenary work from a young age, he found that there was very little honourable combat in the universe outside of the serveral armed forces groups. As a result, at the age of 19 he joined the Hammers Fist Legion. He passed the Imperial Officer Training Course, and was given command of Redemption Platoon. Pursuing his studies he proceeded to become proficient in Demolitions, Close Combat and Heavy Weapons, along with various levels of specialist stormtrooper training, knowing that one day he would want to join the special forces arm of the Hammers Fist.

Physical

Kal Vau is an imposing figure, at 6'3" (190cm) with a strong muscular build, and weighing around 190 lbs (90kg) of muscle, he is extremely intelligent and well versed in most forms of combat, having training in Mandalorian and Echani fighting forms, aswell as picking up some street fighting skills from his time as a Mercenary. Being a Mandalorian he is capable of speaking Mando'a, he also speakins Galactic Basic, and has a smattering of smuggling languages picked up from his time as a mercenary.

Personality

Kal Vau will follow the orders of anyone in a command position because he is a good soldier, but he will no necessarily respect them for it. He is a Mandalorian and above all he respects combat prowess and honour. He will not let his command decisions be clouded by personal feelings and expects all of the men (and women) under his command. He is a career soldier and will not disobey direct orders unless he believes that they will lead his entire unit to be killed (a suicide mission for example) or he has an order that supercedes it. He will however sacrifice his life, or the life of his men if required to save a greater number of lives, or complete an extremely important objective, but he will die with honour. He also likes to deployed with his soldiers, much to the dismay of his commanders.

Kal is not sublte and will often take the most direct approach to solving a situation, he realises that this is not always the best option however and will often consult with his NCO's in the field to gain a better understanding of the situation. He is not above injuring civilians to complete military objectives, but he will try and avoid it if possible. When pressured he will fall back to the fastest, loudest and most effective way of solving the issue, which usually involves some form of artillery bombardment.

Weapons and Armour

Kal's personal sidearms are two DC-15s Blaster Pistols. They have lava crystals, which are only found on Mustafar, as the pistol grips. He usually only carries one around with him while on duty and keeps the other one at his desk on Carrida II. He has also been known to use the M434 Deathhammer blaster pistol because of its reliablity. He keeps his blaster pistol either in its holster on his right hip or in a shoulder holster on his left side. He always keep a vibroblade on his left hip, and always has one on his person even when off duty. His preferred weapons of choice are his personal DC-15A blaster rifle, which is currently in transit to Carrida II, an E-19 with an underslung concussions grenade launcher, or a Blastech light repeating blaster. He also always carries an assortment of demolitions gear with him when deployed.

Kal's Armour and Uniforms

Kal's Standard Armour utilises the Urban Camoflague print as most of his units operations take place in urban environments.

Training

Kal is well trained in the use of blaster pistols but is by no means an expert. He is exceptional with most blaster rifles and giving the time he can hit any target with a single shot. He is ruthless in close combat and is the most proficient close combat fighter on base, either unarmed or armed. There have been rumours floating around the base recently that he can hold his own against a wookie unarmed, but these rumours are unsubstantiated.
