ARC-170
ARC-170[edit]
Borne from a collaboration between Subpro and Incom, the ARC-170 was manufactured with the intent of being the Old Republic's mainline Heavy Starfighter. This craft, designed to be especially skilled at "Aggressive ReConnaissance", had a cost of 180,000 credits, for which you'd be provided with an impressive array of technology for the time period, such as projectiles launchers, 2 medium laser cannons, 2 aft laser cannons, and engines powerful enough to propel this abnormally large craft up to 100 MGLT. Under Republic deployment, the ARC-170 saw itself poorly employed, being thrown into the midst of separatist droid swarms, even the ARC-170's reinforced armor plating and powerful shields succumbed to the swarm. This poor performance led to many within the Republic, and later Empire, developing an unfavorable view for the ARC. Nevertheless, the craft would see itself serving the Galactic Empire, still being deployed from the hangar bays of the converted Imperial Venators. Eventually, it would be replaced by the cost effective (and more maneuverable) TIE series.
Emperor's Hammer usage[edit]
The EH has in it's possession very limited numbers of ARC-170s, and the few examples we are mothballed aboard the expansive hangar bays of the SSSD Sovereign.
