R2-R6

R2-R6, also known as "Rho-gain", is currently assigned to Rho Squadron, stationed on board the Imperial II Class Star Destroyer Warrior.

Biography

R2-R6 is an astromech that operates within Rho Squadron and helps perform tasks such as daily duties, starship maintenance, and ship diagnostic checks. This is a custom tuned R2 series astromech that was originally acquired from a salvage auction on Ord Mantell. However, this droid has undergone numerous modifications from previous owner(s). Despite the patchwork from its past, this droid bears resilience, a tactical insight, and seems to enjoy the engagements of starship battles. With all of that in mind, Jai Thorne adopted this R2 unit into Rho Squadron as his personal astromech for when he needs a reliable droid for the more important flights.

Since Jai had adopted the R2 unit, he has had the droid undergo a refitting process with the aide of the mechanical crew on board the Warrior. Having its processing core optimized, sensor suite upgraded, and installation of an encrypted comms protocol that would only be accessible to Rho Command personnel. Having been in the Squadron for a considerable time now, the droid has became a familiar presence and is known for its distinctive stutter and sarcastic binary chirps.

To Jai Thorne, Rho-gain is more than just a droid, but rather a wing mate and a reliable one at that. Although it may not speak basic, the bond that the two of them share is unmistakable. From within the hangar bay of Rho Squadron, "Rho-gain" has become an unofficial mascot as it is often seen whizzing through the hangar with spare parts in tow, chirping about with its' sarcastic whistles from time to time. R2-R6 has shown unwavering loyalty to Jai and the rest of the Squadron and has earned their spot within the flight crew.
