Senate Awards

From Emperor's Hammer Encyclopaedia Imperia

As described in the Senate Handbook, version 3.02:

Along with title promotions, awards are one of the main ways that members may increase in stature in the Senate. There are three main types of awards that are given in the Senate; Merit Awards for dedication and achievement, Competition Awards for placing in Senate competitions, and Commendations for activities like recruiting and submitting to the Senate Newsletters.

All awards received in the Senate go into a Senator's ID Line as the following example shows. If a Senator has received a Mark of Palpatine, Ivory Clasp and Two Senate Stars, their ID Line would look like this:

SEN/MAG Senator Name (Planet)/Party [MoP][IC][STx2]

The Platinum Sash and Award of Induction are the only awards with named upgrades. Other awards are displayed as following [Awardx#] where Award is the abbreviation of the award with # being the number of times received. For example, three Mark of Palpatine's would be shown as [MoPx3]

Merit Awards[edit]

The Ch’hala Staff [CHHS] - The Ch'hala staff is the highest merit award in the Senate, and is made from the prized Ch'hala trees that line the Senate paths outdoors. The staff is topped by a large emerald, making it truly unique. Senators may carry the Ch'hala staff when wearing their Senatorial robes, no matter their current position and title. Those carrying the famed staff should immediately be treated with great respect, as the award is rarely given to members.

Awarded for: The Ch'hala Staff is awarded to Senators who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the Senate. The Ch'hala Staff will only be awarded to long serving members who have shown dedication and exemplary leadership within the Senate.

Awarded by: The Chancellor

Diamond Senate Seal [DSS] - The Diamond Senate Seal is worn around the waist, in the centre of the Sash (if one has been awarded). Crafted from the largest and purest diamonds found in the deep mines of Aurora, those who wear this award are immediately set apart from other Senators.

Awarded for: The Diamond Senate Seal is awarded to Senators who have served with distinction in their positions and have left a lasting mark on the Senate.

Awarded by: The Chancellor

Emblem of the Senate [EoS] - A gold Senate emblem on a thick gold chain worn around the neck of the Senator.

Awarded for: The Emblem of the Senate is awarded to Senators who have consistently gone above the call of duty in their positions. Recipients would have devoted large amounts of time to bettering the Senate.

Awarded by: The Chancellor or Deputy Chancellor.

Mark of Palpatine [MoP] - The Mark of Palpatine takes the form of a tiny dagger that is pinned to the right side of the collar, opposite to the Crystal Pin (if the Senator has one). The blade is created from a ruby, with a brightly polished silver hilt.

Awarded for: The Mark of Palpatine is awarded to Senators who have performed their duties consistently over a long period of time.

Awarded by: Any High Council member.

Senate Propriety Award [SPA] - A crystalline plaque highlighting a message of commendation and achievement. The Senate emblem is engraved onto the opposing side. It’s typically hung in an office in contrast to a window or light.

Awarded for: A Senate Propriety Award is awarded for articulacy, voice, and excellent conduct in any number of Senate activities. Awarded to a member every month (announced in the SA) for superior dedication to the Senate. The [SPA] is also considered a competition award.

Awarded by: Chancellor, Deputy Chancellor.

Ivory Clasp [ICL] - The Senate robes include a cloak, which is held together with a small sliver clasp. The Ivory Clasp replaces the standard silver clasp on the cloak. The Ivory clasp differs from the silver clasp, not only that it is constructed from a different material, but also a tiny pattern of ornate leaves is carved onto the clasp.

Awarded for: The Ivory Clasp is awarded for services to chapters or the Senate as a whole that have helped the organization to grow and prosper.

Awarded by: Any High Council member or Party Leader

Crystal Pin [CP] - The Crystal Pin is pinned to the collar on the left side, and is made from a small, pure crystal mounted on a gold pin. The crystal is pale blue, and finely cut and polished by the finest artisans on Aurora Prime. The crystals are mined in a remote region of Aurora, with the land being bought by a previous Chancellor to ensure that the crystals are only used by the Senate.

Awarded for: The Crystal Pin is awarded for consistent services to a party or chapter, or the Senate as a whole.

Awarded by: Any High Council member or Party Leader.

Senatorial Sash [SS] - A gray sash that is worn around the waist, at a slight angle. Upgrades to this medal take the form of small stripes that cut straight down the sash. The colors of upgrades are bronze, silver, gold and then platinum, with the cycle repeating. On the ID Line, the multiple upgrades are shown as [SS-Bx2-Sx2-G-P] if the Senator had received seven Sashes in total.

Awarded for: A Senate Sash is awarded for consistent activity and dedication to the Senate. Completing tasks for a Party or Chapter leader or a member of the High Council would also merit this award.

Awarded by: Any High Council member, Party Leader, or Aide.

Senate Star [ST] - A small Silver Star of with the Senate emblem engraved onto it. The Senate Star has a small silver ribbon that is attached to the Star. The Senate Star is pinned to Senatorial Robes.
