Suggestion Box

The #suggestion-box channel on the EHTC Discord server was created to give server members a place to submit ideas for things that could be added, removed, or changed on the Discord server. Instead of remaining limited to comments about the Discord server, it quickly became a place for members to comment about anything happening in the TIE Corps. This has been discussed a few times and is generally regarded as being okay because not every comment needs to be raised through the chain of command and sometimes expedience and convenience outweigh a formal feedback process. There's also a strong desire to keep as much in Discord as we can to avoid creating additional complexity in an already abundant set of sites and applications.

Within the #suggestion-box channel, the Read Message History permission is disabled for everyone except BGCOM+. This prevents discussions from taking place in the channel, but not completely. Anyone with the channel open when a new message comes in will see it and be able to respond to it, which has happened a few times. Discord doesn't offer a permission that would create the perfect suggestion box, so we're using the "close enough" version. BGCOM+ sometimes discuss posts from the suggestion box in a separate channel. HA Plif is fond of routing suggestions to specific officers when the suggestion is related to their area of responsibility.
