Internet Officer

The Internet Officer (IO) is a Command Staff officer (CS-3) responsible for the development and maintenance of Emperor's Hammer internet sites, databases, and communications platforms. The current Internet Officer is FA Turtle Jerrar.

The Victory-class Star Destroyer Stalwart is currently designated as the flagship of the Internet Officer, and is home to the Internet Office.

The Internet Officer (IO) is responsible for the development, maintenance, and improvement of Emperor's Hammer web sites, databases, and digital assets. The Internet Officer acts as the lead administrator for the club’s Internet-facing information assets. The Internet Officer exercises oversight of club Internet activity and coordinates with other Command Staff positions, including the Security Officer, for areas of overlapping responsibility.

Duties

• Leads the development, maintenance, and improvement of official Emperor's Hammer web sites and databases, including the “Emperor's Hammer Domain WWW Home Page” as defined in the club bylaws.
• Establishes and enforces procedures designed to maintain the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of club Internet-facing information assets and data.
• Establishes and enforces procedures for granting personnel elevated permissions to club information assets.
• Maintains source code repository for club information assets (applications and web sites/databases).
• Coordinates directly with the Security Officer concerning member conduct and use of club Internet-facing information assets.
• Coordinates with and supervises the Communications Officer for administration of Emperor's Hammer communication platforms (Discord, Message Boards, distribution lists, etc), and oversight of member conduct on communication platforms.
• Coordinates with and supervises the Logistics Officer for the update and archival of official Emperor’s Hammer materials, and Encyclopaedia Imperia wiki content.
• Assists members with questions regarding the creation and maintenance of Emperor’s Hammer web sites.
• Oversees member compliance with WWW-related sections of the Emperor's Hammer Bylaws.
• Appoints assistants as necessary to discharge duties of the Office, and provides guidance and direction

Promotional Authority

The Internet Officer is authorized to appoint a Command Attaché with a minimum rank of Rear Admiral and maximum rank of Admiral. Additionally, the Communications Officer and Logistics Officer are organized under the Internet Office and report to the Internet Officer.

Rank

The Internet Officer is third in command of the fleet and must hold the minimum rank of Admiral. The Internet Officer can be promoted up to and including the rank of High Admiral.
