Overview
The Exemplary Service Cross is primarily awarded to Flight Members and Flight Leaders who have show great initiative and achievement. This medal is typically given for work that deserves more recognition that a 1st Class Merit Cross but does not quite deserve the award of a Medal of Dexterity. An example of this would be a Flight Member or Flight Leader putting up a basic but useful Squadron Website for his/her Commander. The ESC is also very typically used as a reward for coming first in a large internal squadron competition. However, the it should not be used as a reward for such competitions as Nickname and Motto competitions where a MC1 is far more appropriate; or a flying competition where a War Cross would be a more relevant award.
Citation
The Exemplary Service Cross was the 7th highest Award of the Infiltrator Wing.
