Despite the lure of going into the family business his early career was in ship building, particularly starship engineering according to information held in his Imperial Navy Pilot Records.
He was well known in gambling circles on Fostar Haven and subsequently aboard the ISD Hammer. He has previously been known to engage in high stakes tables, a conclusion drawn by his losing of a ship in a game of Sabaac when on an assignment to Mos Eisely, Tatooine.
