Tie Reaper
The massive TIE Reaper was originally intended to be used as a troop lander, but as with all models produced by Sienar Fleet Systems, it’s completely modular, allowing its deployment as a support craft.
It is powered by the same solar ionization panels and Twin Ion Engines that identifies the whole TIE series, but its elongated design and lateral wings present a much different profile. With the upgrades provided along the years it became on par with modern craft, capable of ECM (Electronic Counter Measures), medium sensor range, deployment of supply drones and even turret mines, it provides the necessary complement to squadron tactics. Giving the complexity of operations, it carries one pilot and a co-pilot, normally serving as a Comms Operator.
The latest models are deployed with the SubLight Acceleration Motor (SLAM), and it is even capable of doing high powered ‘drifting’ turns to compensate its natural lack of maneuverability due its huge mass and size.
Of its other notable capabilities there’s the auto-aim laser cannons, using droid assisted servos and sensor data to maintain the fire on target; a revised and more powerful version of the tractor beam; and the scrambler shield, which distorts the enemies’ sensors preventing immediate lock, giving the TIE Reaper an edge against faster an agile fighter trying to sneak on it.
The Emperor’s Hammer Strike Fleet uses two flights equipped with TIE Reapers for special missions.
