Early Life

Vaner was born on Balosar in 2 ABY. As a young boy, his parents were both caught up in the Balo mushroom trade, leaving him with a lonely childhood, but also allowing him the freedom to explore his city and planet on his terms. This encouraged his free spirit, rebelliousness, and a bit of the legendary Balosar selfishness. For better or for worse, he ended up doing the same thing his parents and so many others of his species did, balo mushroom trading.

Adult Life

Until 25 ABY, Vaner was an elusive mushroom transporter, known for his knack at piloting. Near the end of the year, Vaner was arrested by the New Republic for selling balo mushrooms and sentenced to 5 years. His jailtime helped him to avoid most of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion. Finding out about the battles he missed gave him a bit of relief, but also inspired a desire to find out about combat and the experiences he heard about from some of his fellow prisoners. His cellmate was a member of an Imperial offshoot and helped foster Vaner's interest in becoming a pilot. In 30 ABY, upon his release, Vaner fell back into some of his old ways and contacts before daring to venture off to find the TIE Corps.

TIE Corps

Vaner began his service to the TIE Corps aboard the ISDII Warrior in Rho Squadron. Moving through the ranks, he served as Flight 3 Lead, Flight 2 Lead, and Squadron XO (SQXO) before earning commandership of Theta Squadron in May of 2022.
