A DUM-series droid or more often referred to as a Pit Droid, is a service droid often employed in ship repairs and labour.

Brush was first assigned to Newt, after they were found alongside their sibling droid Lug-Nut in a trash pile. Newt found them and proceeded to clean and repair the droids for use on the smuggling ship that Newt called home. Brush from the moment they were activated showed a rather delicate personality, she would often times find herself with an airbrush in hand painting small depictions of the adventures she went on alongside Newt and Lug-nut.

These tendencies led to Newt taking a much more caring role over Brush, protecting the droid and making sure she had enough supplies to do art. This furthered when Newt became a scavenger on Tusorix, Newts small hovel being filled with art and patterns brush painted across the walls, Newt often having to pay out for the fines, though keeping this a secret from Brush. Alike her sibling droid, Brush followed Newt from Smuggling, to Scavenging, to work with the TIE Corps, now often times getting Newt in trouble when a TIE Fighter is found with a small flower painted on its wing.
