Omega Squadron

Omega Squadron was an elite squadron of the TIE Corps, assigned to the SSSD Sovereign. As originally conceived, it was intended to be the premiere squadron for single player pilots across the TIE Corps.

Brief History

Omega Squadron originated in 1995 as one of the squadrons onboard the SSD Avenger, originally charged with a "CLASSIFIED" designation for its mission objective. By 1996, however, it had been reformed as one of the first elite squadrons of the TIE Corps. While it initially flew TIE Defenders, as part of its status as an elite squadron, it was later approved for use of a custom ship: the TIE Guardian.

While Omega was stationed on the SSSD Sovereign, it was not assigned directly to any of the Sovereign's wings, with its commander instead reporting directly to the Sovereign commodore.

Omega Squadron would eventually close sometime after 2005, at the same time other large-scale reductions and reorganization within the TIE Corps saw the reduction of battlegroups and the removal of elite squadrons from the active roster.

Mottos and Nicknames

From its formation as an elite squadron through the the time of its closure, the following nickname and motto were in effect:

• Motto: We Bring Death!
• Nickname: Sentinels of the Fleet Commander

Occasionally, individual flights also made use of mottos and nicknames. At time of closure, Flight 1 used the motto of Semper Colon. Previous flight mottos included
