Widely acknowledged as one of the finest Squadron Commanders that Kappa has ever had, Deacan's place in our halls of fame is assured. From the earliest stages of his career Deacan demonstrated the ability to eventually rise to a position of command, through a great deal of hard work and loyalty. After Hawkins' resignation he was given the opportunity to prove his potential, and was immediately instrumental in bringing a fresh direction for the Squadron. He continued to serve after stepping down, but RL commitments eventually forced his retirement to the Reserves
