The Helldiver Tie/ca2 is not a direct variant of the original TIE/ca "Punisher". Instead, it takes the lessons learned in the development of the [Tempest-class_TIE_Punisher Tempest-class TIE Punisher] and replaces the main armaments with boarding torpedoes.
It was developed by Hector Von Ricmore and Mordred for House Valkorion as companions for the newly recommissioned FRG Tormentor.
The Boarding Torpedoes[edit]
Based on previously existing models of boarding torpedoes, the Helldiver uses an enhanced inertia compensator and built in life support to maintain the operatives up to 1 week (2 days of immediate use and 5 days of reserve supplies when deployed).
Movement inside the main chamber is somewhat limited, but a trained operative can change into a plastoid light armor with ease.
The magnetic accelerators inside each pod propel the torpedoes at almost 250 MGLT. When on the final approach, micro thrusters in front of the torpedoes activate, reducing the speed to about 120 MGLT before impact.
As the location relative to target is confirmed, the operative engages the Slayn & Korpil plasma ring to cut through the hull. Once the interior is breached, the area is flooded with coolant, which also serves as a smoke screen for the operative to disembark safely.
