Imperial Vogue

From Emperor's Hammer Encyclopaedia Imperia

Imperial Vogue was a Emperor's Hammer lifestyle magazine that operated around 2001. It was intended to be reminiscent of its real world counterpart, but with a Emperor's Hammer angle. It was published and operated by its head editor, Mairin Astoris, and its Deputy Editor, Werdna Elbee.

Background[edit]

Intended as a successor to Imperial Cosmo, Imperial Vogue was the brainchild of Mairin Astoris, who wanted to create a magazine for the Emperor's Hammer that would provide a more humorous and lighthearted take on the events and works of the Emperor's Hammer as a whole. Enlisting Werdna Elbee to assist, Imperial Cosmo would ultimately publish three issues before folding.

Issues would include a mix of club-specific topics including news of the date, editorials, features, interviews of club members, in-universe horoscopes and fashion articles, as well as a humor section including logs and quotes. The only section that was not done in-universe included reviews of current media, unrelated to the Emperor's Hammer directly.

Issue #1 featured a "SubGroup Madness" section, containing articles from the Dark Brotherhood, Infiltrator Wing, Fleet Medical Corps, and Intelligence Division subgroups advocating for their particular subgroup. Issue #2 highlighted the new Week of War website. Issue #3 featured a new layout similar to Imperial Cosmo, with most articles written by Werdna Elbee.

While the magazine did not last much beyond its initial issue, it serves today as an artifact and "slice of life" into elements of Emperor's Hammer club culture at the turn of the millennium.
