Jade Star

The Jade Star is the personal TIE Interceptor of Captain Giles “Aval” Rathborne, a veteran pilot of the Emperor’s Hammer TIE Corps.

Unlike standard TIE Interceptors assigned by the TIE Corps, the Jade Star was salvaged and rebuilt by Aval after the destruction of the VSD Trebuche. Drawing on both surplus parts from Thrawn’s fleet and salvaged components from Warlord Zsinj’s wrecked squadrons, Aval commissioned the fighter during his early days with Delta Squadron. What began as a functional restoration project soon became an obsession.

The Jade Star’s defining feature is its green-tinted solar panels, a visual homage to Aval’s Corulagi heritage and a subtle defiance of standard TIE Corps aesthetics. Internally, it sports an upgraded targeting array modelled on Thrawn-era fleet modifications, including a limited threat-mapping capability. The quad laser cannons have been recalibrated for tighter convergence at mid-range, allowing Aval to excel in high-speed strafing runs against targets.

The cockpit has been retrofitted with a reinforced inertial compensator and a stripped-down life-support system to save on power usage, something that is typical of Aval’s preference for performance over comfort. A small kill-marker panel beside the viewport displays dozens of stylized emblems, each representing victories against New Republic and pirate forces alike.
