Tusorixian

Tusorixian

Tusorixians were a near-human species native to the planet Tusorix. They were first encountered by the Emperor’s Hammer as the First Recon Division ventured into the Unknown Regions.

Biology and appearance

Tusorixians resembled humans in most aspects except for two distinct features: on average they were taller than humans, and they had two small, rounded, bony horns above their foreheads. Their skin tones were similar in range to those of humans, with the Tusorixians that lived closer to the equator having darker complexions.

Society and culture

Tusorixians were a hospitable people. Tusorix was a trading hub for other nearby systems, with a steady stream of commerce traffic coming and going. Tusorix also had a large tourism industry, with several forms of entertainment available in the large cities, while there were also several luxurious resorts along the coastlines.

They were not familiar with the Empire prior to the arrival of the First Recon Division. They were vaguely familiar with the Old Republic. In general, they did not pay much attention to the changes in the socio-military environment of the known galaxy.

EH Relations

The Tusorixians had a strong relationship with the Emperor's Hammer. The locals were welcoming and opened their planet to the First Recon Division. During the First Battle of Tusorix, EH forces defended the locals from an unknown enemy. The locals clarified that the raiders were known as the Ishtari and requested assistance from Grand Admiral Rapier. The Grand Admiral agreed, and the First Recon Division scouted the surrounding systems for the Ishtari homeworld, skirmishing with the enemy in several engagements. The EH forces returned to Tusorix to analyze their findings, only for the Ishtari to launch an all out assault. At the Second Battle of Tusorix, the First Recon Division routed the Ishtari force. After refitting the fleet and analyzing the reconnaissance data, the First Recon Division went on the assault. Pushing into Ishtari territory, the EH fleet slowly drove the enemy back to their homeworld, capturing several Ishtari-controlled planets in the process. While the First Recon Division was ultimately unsuccessful in its attempt to neutralize the homeworld, the ability of the Ishtari to continue their violent tactics was all but eliminated. Upon returning to Tusorix, the EH fleet was welcomed back as saviors and liberators.

TIE/rh Rhodium Creation

Intended as a thank you gift from the Tusorixian people to the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet, and enabled and aided by the discovery of large enough quantities of Rhodium on Tusorix's mining moon of Zaryan, Tusorixian technical starcraft engineers collaborated with the Emperor's Hammer Science Office to create a flagship starfighter that represented the coexisting relationship between the Tusorixian planet and its protectors.

The Tusorixian Minister of Resources, Minister Rtopi, under direction from the First Minister Opiff, began to mine the metal with intent for at least half to be donated to the Strike Fleet. Eventually Major Lorner of the Emperor's Hammer Science Office was contacted by the Tusorixian Chief of Ministerial Engineers, Hashel Brole, about the prospect of a joint collaborative starfighter.

Prototypes for a new metal alloy using rhodium in conjunction with other more traditional ship hull materials like quadanium to harness the capabilities of both were created in laboratories aboard the ISDII Warrior. It was there that the design for the craft was created, as well.

Implementing several traditional Tusorixian sailing designs, chiefly triangular outrigger sails that serve as the hallmark of Tusorixian engineering, the two teams of engineers melded the ideas with traditional Imperial engineering and came up with the TIE/rh Rhodium, which was then presented to Rho Squadron as a reward for their excellent completion of 32 ABY's ReMob competition.
