WyldeFyre

The Maxima-class Heavy Cruiser WyldeFyre is a ship of the Emperor's Hammer TIE Corps, as part of Battlegroup III. It was originally a First Order ship captured by Battlegroup III during its third battle of Imperial Storm VII.

The ship was named by Admiral Locke Setzer in honor of the IRC bot originally tasked with managing the IRC channel of the ISD Challenge on the Undernet, #isd_challenge.

Background

During Imperial Storm VII, the TIE Corps took an aggressive stance on capturing First Order ships, both to better understand this unknown technology and to potentially increase the size of the fleet. Each Battlegroup operated independently from each other as they battled their way towards a final target in the Gasriese System.

During the third battle, Battlegroup III was able to defeat and capture a Maxima-class Heavy Cruiser from the First Order. Admiral Locke Setzer claimed the honor of naming the ship, christening it the Wyldefyre.

Wyldefyre was once the name of the admin bot deployed in the ISD Challenge's IRC channel on the Undernet. The ship is named in its honor. Wyldefyre was an Eggdrop bot owned by Darklord and Mell Kerrigan, with Darklord tasked with its administration.

The Wyldefyre is the second ship in Battlegroup III to be named after an IRC bot, with the Arquitens-class Light Cruiser Surefire sharing a name with the one-time TIE Corps IRC bot created by SA Kawolski.
