Battlegroup III is a naval battlegroup of the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet under the command of the TIE Corp's First Recon Division, and is home to both the ISDII Challenge and the MC-90 Renegade, including all remaining forces of the Infiltrator Wing.

History[edit]

Battlegroup III was formed under the Command of Admiral Silwar Naiilo on October 29th, 2022, as part of a reformation of the TIE Corps under new battlegroups. As part of this formation, the ISDII Challenge was reassigned to the newly-formed Battlegroup III as its flagship, with the MC-40 Roost serving as a support ship for Infiltrator Wing operations, which Battlegroup III absorbed as well.

On April 17, 2023, the Battlegroup expanded its fleet and its Infiltrator Wing operations with the arrival of the re-commissioned MC-90 Renegade. As part of this change, all Infiltrator Wing squadrons that had been stationed onboard the Challenge (Raven Squadron, Eagle Squadron, Firebird Squadron) were reassigned to the Renegade, with Tempest Squadron, Thunder Squadron, and the newly re-opened Typhoon Squadron remaining onboard the Challenge.

On July 18, 2023, Thunder Squadron and Raven Squadron were closed, reducing each capital ship in Battlegroup III to two active squadrons.

Battlegroup III currently consists of two wings: Wing X (assigned to the Challenge) and Wing XXII (assigned to the Renegade).
