“Reckless”
Lieutenant Et’sen Kryze is a Chiss pilot serving as the Squadron Executive Officer of Gamma Squadron, Wing I, aboard the ISD-II Hammer with Battlegroup I of the Emperor’s Hammer. Known by the callsign Reckless, he is a rising star within both the TIE Corps and the Secret Order, where he holds the rank of Novitiate and was recently appointed Magistrate to the Master-at-Arms. A disciplined, reserved, and intensely focused warrior, Kryze embodies the cold precision of his species combined with the relentless drive of a survivor.
Early Life
Born beneath the drifting ash-clouds of Nevarro, Et’sen Kryze’s origins remain shrouded in mystery. His Chiss family — traders, scouts, and information brokers — lived on the fringes of Nevarro’s bounty-hunter-dominated society. From a young age, he exhibited unnatural instincts: sensing danger before it manifested, tracking targets others could not find, and reacting with impossible speed. Though his family never spoke the word aloud, they quietly recognized his Force sensitivity and taught him restraint and secrecy.
That secrecy ultimately failed. While still young, his family became entangled in an Imperial remnant operation hunting Force-sensitives. Their transport was ambushed in the badlands, and Et’sen arrived to find only burning wreckage. No bodies were recovered. The tragedy forged him into a lone predator. He vanished into Nevarro’s underworld, surviving as a bounty hunter and mercenary pilot. Locals soon spoke in hushed tones of the “blue-eyed ghost” — a quiet Chiss who never missed a target and seemed always one step ahead.
Path to Power
As a teenager, Kryze fought in brutal gladiatorial games, where he famously spared a Wookiee warrior named Rr’karr, earning both a life debt and rare Brylark wood. He later earned renown during the Kessel Run Intercept and the Battle of the Red Nebula, where he single-handedly dismantled superior pirate forces through uncanny reflexes and tactical brilliance.
His hunts eventually led him to forbidden knowledge. On the derelict above Moraband (Korriban), he discovered fragments of Sith teachings that awakened the darker aspects of his power. Years later, while hunting a hidden Jedi, he claimed the fallen Knight’s damaged lightsaber and began his quiet turn toward the dark side.
Before joining the Emperor’s Hammer in March 2026, Kryze operated as an independent bounty hunter and contract pilot across the Outer Rim. The Empire hired him multiple times, including a dangerous mission policing the Kessel spaceways where he famously slew a massive Summa-verminoth, claiming one of its enormous teeth as a trophy.
Service in the Emperor’s Hammer
Kryze joined the TIE Corps on 2026-03-17 as a Trainee and rapidly advanced. He was promoted to Sub-Lieutenant, then to Lieutenant on 2026-05-18 following the completion of his Imperial Navy Personnel Record. He currently flies as Gamma Squadron 2-1. He was recently appointed Squadron Executive Officer of Gamma Squadron.
In a remarkably short time, he has distinguished himself through intense training and academic excellence. He has earned several perfect 100% scores on various Shadow Academy courses in his journey to become a Sith Knight earning several Legion's of the Scholar by Grand Master Kessen. He also completed advanced training in Assassination Tactics, Vehicle Operations, Squadron Management, and more. His dedication to both piloting and the Secret Order’s shadow arts has been exceptional.
Kryze is currently assembling a personal lightsaber using components earned through blood and cunning:
- A hilt carved from the tooth of the Summa-verminoth he slew
- An activation plate of Brylark wood
- A safety switch fashioned from Yuuzhan Vong bone
- And many other rare and hard-won pieces
Personality and Outlook
Kryze is humble, reserved, and deeply introspective. He speaks little, observes much, and maintains an aura of quiet intensity. Though loyal to the Emperor’s Hammer, his allegiance stems from respect for strength, order, and purpose rather than blind ideology. He views the galaxy as a harsh place where only the prepared and powerful endure.
He cherishes the teachings of House Valkorion within the Secret Order and remains ever ready to answer the call of his House, Clan, or the Order itself. As he once told a group of mischievous Sith knights:
“I would like to have fun… But be warned — most cannot handle it when I have… fun.”
Current Status
As Squadron Executive Officer of Gamma Squadron and newly appointed Magistrate to the Master-at-Arms, Lieutenant Et’sen Kryze continues his steady ascent. Having spent significant time honing his skills during and after Imperial Storm VIII, he now stands prepared for the upcoming ReMob period and greater responsibilities within both the TIE Corps and the Secret Order. With a stubborn holocron in his possession, Ludo Kressh’s Armband on his wrist, and a powerful lightsaber nearing completion, the “blue-eyed ghost” grows ever more dangerous.
A single whisper is all he needs.
