Battlegroup II is a naval battlegroup of the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet under the command of the TIE Corp's First Recon Division. Battlegroup II was reactivated the tenth month of 30 ABY to include the ISDII Warrior and her associated squadrons and ships. In the fourth month of 31 ABY, the ISDII Relentless was added to BGII's forces after a series of encounters with a hostile alien species, the Ishtari.

History[edit]

Battlegroup II was formed under the Command of Admiral Marenta Jean in October of 30 ABY (2022) as the organizational division of battlegroup saw their return to the TC at large. This change persisted until the need for more ships of the First Recon Division arose. In that time, Rear Admiral JetMech had assumed command of the BG during the fleetwide Imperial Storm V in 31 ABY. Shortly thereafter, AD Marenta Jean returned to the Battlegroup commander role as JetMech stepped back to the Flight Lead Role in Theta. Eventually, after continued excellent service from Marenta, Rho Squadron leadership veteran Fr0Zen, a multiple-time commander and oft-battlegroup-wide galvanizer, took the reins of the Battlegroup. At this time he is still serving in the position.

When the Relentless was added to BGII's forces, members of Sigma Squadron elected to move to the Relentless, opening Hammer Squadron. The addition of another Star Destroyer to the BGs happened just after the fleet (excluding the only undamaged ship, the Warrior) was forced to Tusorix for repairs. During this time, the Warrior was tasked with guarding the spaceport where the fleet was being repaired.

Competition History[edit]

Battlegroup II has an illustrious history that accompanies the history that its subsidiary Imperial Star Destroyers have, but has forged its own path since the institution of the battlegroup organizational level. Primarily, the Battlegroup has seen great success in competitions and exercises between the entire Emperor's Hammer TIE Corps subgroup. In addition, it has seen great conflict, especially considering for its brief time as a group.

Combating the Ishtari in its first campaign, the Battlegroup won the annual Raise the Flag competition in 31 ABY. This victory afforded it the privelege and responsibility to serve as the TIE Corps Commander's Flagship. Thus, for the following year after that victory, HA Plif resided on the ISDII Warrior, the chief Imperial Star Destroyer of the Battlegroup.

In addition to this Raise the Flag victory over the entrenched and determined Ishtari, the Battlegroup found success in the annual Imperial Storm competitions. As these competitions ceased to be in a strictly Battlegroup versus Battlegroup scenario, cooperation and coordination with the other two Battlegroups proved invaluable to tackling the continued Ishtari threat in the Battlegroup's first Imperial Storm. The Battlegroup foudn success in the fact that the Battlegroup's own ISDII Warrior was unique in that it escaped the campaign unscathed, and equally the next year fought beside its two sister Battlegroups to combat the new external threat.

The Battlegroup moves into 32 ABY with optimism, seeking to expand squadron count, leadership opportunities, competition performance, and, primarily, continue to foster the beautiful culture that is so inherent to the ISDII Warrior and the larger Battlegroup II.
