Karana Initiative

The Karana Initiative is a TIE Corps wide competition that was started when High Admiral Daniel Bonini and Fleet Admiral Jarek La'an were assigned as TIE Corps Commander and Strategic Operations Officer. The competition entails several activities for TIE Corps members, and is strongly supported by the Tactical Office. The Tactical Officer, Anahorn Dempsey, provided a beginnign point in the fiction entitled A New Hope which is available through the EH Message Boards. The fiction describes the start of the operation in the Karana sector, and sets an order of Battle for the TIE Corps to use. The SOO shortly followed up with a character description of the antagonist, the Void Raptors under command of Val Duquesne, an Imperial defector from Aurora.

The competition has consisted of four phases so far, with more possibly to follow. Several battles were created as part of this operation, though not all were used for the competition.

Competitions

Phase 1a: fiction

A fiction competition where TIE Corps members can steer this operation in any direction they want, within the framework provided. This competition was won by LC Anahorn Dempsey of Delta Squadron with the fiction entitled Flight of the Indomitable.

Phase 1b: battle design

Building on the TAC's starting fiction, all TIE Corps members could provide a fiction for the competition, with the aim of this fiction being converted into an EH Battle by the Tactical Office. The competition was won by LT Kyle Kroan of Delta Squadron.

Phase 2: flying XWA

This competition is based on the winning 1b fiction and entails the flying of XWA TC 67: The Hunt for the Raptor The High Score section was won by ......... while Delta Squadron was named TCCOM's Escort Squadron.

Phase 3: flying XvT

This competition entails the flying of XvT TC 143: Trailing the Raptors The High Score section was won by ......... while Delta Squadron was named TCCOM's Escort Squadron.

Battles

Flight of the Indomitable

a prequel to the operation, this battle describes the defection of the Star Destroyer Indomitable. Just at the moment the TCCOM assembles his Task Force, the Indomitable slips away hoping to go unnoticed and expected to be part of the Task Force. Unfortunately, someone's keeping tabs and figured it out.

The Hunt for the Raptor

High Admiral Bonini has accumulated a number of ships and set off to engage a particularly nasty group of outlaws. Accompanied by the Tactical Officer, and the best pilots he could gather, he has taken the Imperial-II class Star Destroyer Hammer to the Karana cluster. Cut off from the rest of the Emperor's Hammer, his mission is simple: bring an end to these outlaws! In this battle, the Hunt begins.

Trailing the Raptors

Rumors have reached the TCCOM regarding a remote outpost where the Void Raptors do some business on a fairly regular basis. As such, the VSD Zerstoren has been diverted there.

Ride of the Leviathan

The Mon Calamari StarCruiser Leviathan has been travelling New Republic controlled space for several months now. Cut off from the Emperor's Hammer, and isolated from any tidings, they are unaware of the fact the Emperor's Hammer has relegated hostilities against the New Republic. And as such, they continue their mission to infiltrate the New Republic, cause as much damage as they can, and be a general pain in the arse. However, their ongoing travels through enemy space have taken their toll on the Leviathan's starfighter complement and the Commodore is contemplating his next course of action.

The Raptor's Secret

The Hammer's mission against the Void Raptors continues. What starts as a simple cargo transfer operation swiftly leads to the discovery of a threat that will endanger the entire mission. The Raptors have previously been spotted flying Imperial material such as Star Destroyers and TIE Advanced fighters, but they are now on the verge of acquiring the TIE Defender technology!

A Raptor's Undoing

With our recent victories against the Void Raptors and the arrest of their second in command, the tide appears to be turning, and the TCCOM is approached by the Denghazi of the Mahar people for an alliance. He wants the Raptors out of his space, and he is willing to give us an excellent deal if we will help him to do so. It's an offer the TCCOM cannot refuse..
