TIE Corps in Battle
TIE Corps in Battle is an on-going, semi-regular single-player competition in the TIE Corps held by the Warfare Office in which pilots are challenged to earn the highest score possible on a set of battles each month, typically over the course of four months. Points are awarded to individual pilots based on their performance, with additional awards available based on the squadron and battlegroup with the highest total points at season's end.
History[edit]
Launched in 2019 by then-TIE Corps Commander Pete Mitchell, TIE Corps in Battle was first envisioned as TIE Corps competition encompassing an entire year whereby pilots would be challenged to complete specific single player battles with the best possible score.
Each month, a TIE Fighter battle, a X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter battle, and an X-Wing Alliance battle would be selected. Pilots would have the month to try to earn the highest score possible in each of those battles. At the end of the month, points would then be awarded to participating pilots per platform based on how well they performed. By the end of the season, the pilot with the most points would be awarded the title of TIE Corps Battlemaster, with accolades given to the squadron and pilot with the most points as well.
The competition was handed over to Plif upon his ascension to TIE Corps Commander. It would run as a year event again in 2020, before being reduced to a five month event for 2021, and finally a four-month event starting in Season 4. It has remained a four month season from this time onwards.
For Season 7, the competition was handed over to the Warfare Officer Phoenix Berkana, who added a fourth platform to the competition: TIE Fighter Total Conversion. The competition has remained in this configuration since.
While the points and specific awards have varied over the earlier seasons, other than the addition of TFTC as a platform in Season 7, the current point and award allocation has remained effectively unchanged since Season 4.

Current Rules[edit]
Every month, one battle from TIE, XvT, XWA, and TFTC is assigned. Pilots will have one month to fly the battles to the best of their ability and submit their pilot files through the database normally.
The pilot with the highest score each month in each platform will earn 9 points. The next highest score will earn 8, then 7, and so on. All submissions will earn at least 2 points. Any mission high scores will earn 1 bonus point and any battle high scores will earn 2 bonus points.
High scores are evaluated in the order the pilot files were submitted, but both pilots will receive the bonus points if a processed high score is overtaken later by another pilot. Points will accumulate for the season for more awards and the overall top pilot will also receive the title TIE Corps Battlemaster.
The points earned by each pilot will also be added to their squadron's total and their battlegroup's total. At the end of the season, the participants from top three squadrons and the top battlegroup earn awards.
Current medal awards are as follows:
- IS-PW/GW/SW/BW/CW for the top five overall individual point totals for the season
- IS-GW/SW/BW/CW for the top four individual point totals in each platform for the season
- IS-GW/SW/BW/CW for the top four overall individual point totals each month
- IS-SW/BW/CW for the top three scores in each platform each month
- ORA for every six battles completed during the competition (max of 2)
- ORA for scoring at least 80% of the pre-round high score on a battle (max of 12)
- TUA/MUA/MUA for all participants from the top three squadrons for the season
- MUA for all participants from the top battlegroup for the season
