R2-D7

R2-D7, also known as "Nix", is currently assigned to Rho Squadron, stationed on the Imperial-II Class Star Destroyer Warrior.

Biography

Not much is known about R2-D7's service record due to frequent memory wipes as mandated by standard Imperial protocol. There is some speculation that the droid dates back to the Galactic Empire, while others assume that it has only served under the Emperor's Hammer TIE Corps.

In 29 ABY, R2-D7 was reassigned to be Rho Squadron's dedicated astromech at the request of the Squadron Commander, Adom "fr0Zen" Wietu. fr0Zen immediately dubbed the astromech "Nix" as a playful ribbing towards the Rho Squadron Chief Mechanic, Mix.

After overcoming his initial annoyance with fr0Zen's naming prank, Mix accepted Nix as part of the Rho Squadron maintenance team, mostly due to his respect for the expert assistance provided by the droid while maintaining Rho Squadron's twelve starfighters. The downside of this close relationship is that Nix has adopted some of Mix's mannerisms, namely his snarky attitude and lack of patience for bantha poodoo.

Nix also assists the Squadron Commander with maintaining and analyzing squadron records and performance data. The astromech has also proven invaluable at screening the Squadron Commander from GR-MS, General Frown's personal protocol droid, in its attempts to remind the Squadron Commander of late reports and missing records.
