Readme Background[edit]

It has been one standard year since the Emperor’s Hammer and the First Order first came to blows over the Fuel Depot HydroStation 77. Once again, the Emperor’s Hammer is venturing out into the First Order’s territory, looking for information on where the mysterious force emanations are coming from.

Script[edit]

Commander's Briefing[edit]

The story so far:

Years ago, Grand Admiral Rapier sensed a dark calling from deep within the Unknown Regions. Conferring with the Grand Master of the Secret Order and the TIE Corps Commander it was decided to send a portion of the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet to seek out the source of this dark presence, and deal with any hostilities along the way.

It was a long and arduous journey, with many foes en route, but just one standard year ago the scouts of the Fleet discovered another, seemingly Imperial, faction within the area of the Chaos of the Unknown Region. This faction, who referred to themselves as the First Order, fielded craft of obvious Imperial extraction, upgraded TIE Fighters and Star Destroyers and the like. But they also were infected by the prideful rot that had consumed the Empire in the latter years. Without discussion, their commander, one Grand Marshal Hoshiko Takeda, had DEMANDED the complete surrender of the Emperor’s Hammer to her authority and claimed the leadership of the Fleet was illegitimate and illegal.

Needless to say, this did not sit well with the Grand Admiral, nor the pilots under his command, so the Emperor's Hammer went to war with the First Order. It started with a month-long campaign in the Gasriese System culminating in the capture of a Fuel Depot above the gas giant Zephyron, HydroStation 77. Grand Marshal Takeda escaped the system before the forces of the Emperor's Hammer took complete control however.

Over the following months, the Emperor's Hammer’s forces pursued the remnants of the First Order to the jungle world of Jundaxa, while also conducting combat trials of the previously captured First Order ships from the battle for HydroStation 77. Just as the TIE Corps and Hammer's Fist had fully committed to the capture of Jundaxa, the First Order's trap was sprung. In a simultaneous operation, an overwhelming counterassault force arrived to trap the Emperor's Hammer forces on Jundaxa, while also sending Mandalorian infiltrators to the Fuel Depot to disrupt operations there as well.

It was only through the heroic efforts of the pilots of the TIE Corps that the main ships of the Strike Fleet were able to escape the trap on Jundaxa, while many of the soldiers of the Hammer's Fist were lost, not able to make it back to the transports in time. The Mandalorian infiltrators on the Fuel Depot were stopped before they could cause any catastrophic harm, but the combined counterattack by the First Order had knocked the Emperor's Hammer forces back on their heels.

It took some time, but once again the pilots of the Emperor's Hammer push forward into presumed First Order territory, looking for new resources and information on what the source could be of the strange Force emanations that first drew them to the Chaos to begin with.

Tactical Briefing Text[edit]

All right, settle down now. We, along with the Grey Wolf, Renegade, Essex, Apollo, and Krayt's Claw have arrived here in the Eisvahn System to gather intel.

There is a First Order station here in orbit above the forested world of Eisvahn IV.

Our job is to destroy, or drive off, the First Order ships in the area and then disable the station so that a boarding party can get in to gather the intel we are after.

Once they download the station's central computer core, protect them as they return to the Relentless.

We don’t know if they will have reinforcements nearby, keep your eyes open for any new ships entering the area.

We have been ordered to retreat rather than lose any of our ships, so a rendezvous location a few light years away has been entered into your computers if that becomes necessary.

However, we must complete our primary mission before we fall back, protect the Relentless at all costs until the strike team is back on board.

Good luck.

Radio Messages[edit]

<Relentless> Ok, looks like all they have is a handful of cruisers guarding the station. Remember that we are not here to capture territory. We are to get in, get what we need, and get out

<Crossbow 1> Roger Relentless, we are just here to fleece their computer core

<Relentless> Our escort ships are moving to engage their cruisers, keep the fighters and bombers off of them. And remember that these FO fighters can take a pounding

<Unknown> To you who say you are the Emperor's Hammer, you are betraying the Empire you have sworn to protect and will be destroyed for your impudence. The retribution you have already earned will only be increased by your actions today. Surrender now and we may yet be merciful. Fight and only further seal your doom when we come for you

<Condor 2> Don't they ever get tired of making threats?

<Relentless> Mission completed. Get back to the ship, we need to leave before more reinforcements can arrive

Victory Briefing[edit]

We have succeeded in capturing the information stored in that station's computer core. Our technicians are now hard at work decoding the data, but it seems the First Order has changed some of their computer codes recently, it may take a few days for the information to be available.

You did good work out there today and should be proud of yourselves. Go get some chow or rack time, you have all earned it.
