Readme Background[edit]

Some of my favorite stories in the EH database were written and made by Frodo. He graciously has given me permission to remaster his XWA battles into TFTC and I have chosen to remaster XWA-DB 9: Heading for Pyrath.

This battle tells the story of the Deputy Grandmaster of the Dark Brotherhood's quest to get to Pyrath to support the blockade that the Grandmaster has ordered to contain a deadly enemy.

Script[edit]

Mission 1: Jedi Entanglements[edit]

Pyrath-1-large.png

Commander's Briefing[edit]

The Dark Brotherhood has been developing new fighters that will be able to make use of a Sith pilot's special force abilities during flight.

The Deputy Grand Master has been escorting these operations for the last week since there has been some rumored Jedi activity in the area. Apparently the Jedi are after this technology and intend on using it to their advantage. Unfortunately for them, Dark Side Adept Drak has left with a small fleet to make sure his investment in these new fighters isn't compromised.

Tactical Briefing Text[edit]

Greetings Dark Jedi, as part of the [Deputy Grand Master's Escort Force,] we have been assigned a special task.

[Hammerhead] Squadron will launch to defend a cargo transfer from the [VSD Indomitable] and [PLT/4 Forte].

This cargo is top secret, related to the Sith Fighter Project, and will be transferred via regular [Transports].

Defend the secret technology from whatever may attack...The DGM has sensed the presence of Jedi...

May the dark side of the force guide you...

Radio Messages[edit]

<Drak> I sense a disturbance in the force...

<Drak> Something powerful is heading this way. Beware

<Hammerhead 1> Yes Master

<TRN Movement> We're moving in

<TRN Deplace> We're proceeding with mission

<Drak> Rebels! Wait...JEDI! I was right!

<Drak> Protect everything!

<Drak> Arg...Corvettes...

<PLT/4 Forte> We're taking heat here sir

<Drak> Hammerhead, destroy the CRVs and GUNs!

<Drak> You let them get disabled...

<Drak> Good, the threat is gone

<Oppressor> We're sending an ATR to fix the disabled Transports

<Indomitable> Drak, Sir, we have a message from the GM!

<Drak> Pilots, get to your debriefing...this is important…

Victory Briefing[edit]

The Deputy Grand Master entered the debriefing room with a slightly uneasy look that none of the Sith were used to seeing. He stood in front of them and started talking.

"Gentlemen, the Dark Brotherhood is in a state of panic. We're being attacked by a new foe, the Akmuvah. They are currently attempting to take Pyrath from us. The Grand Master has ordered that we leave this Sith Fighter Project behind and join the rest of the brotherhood at Pyrath for the blockade.”

After hearing those words the pilots and crew were slightly startled, but it was now time to leave.

Mission 2: Pirate Peril[edit]

Pyrath-2-large.png

Commander's Briefing[edit]

The Dark Brotherhood is in a state of panic! They are under attack by a foe never seen before, the Akmuvah…

At the end of the last mission, Grand Master Nocturnus contacted DA Drak to reassign him and his small fleet. They must join the rest of the Dark Brotherhood at Pyrath to attempt to blockade the enemy!

Upon hearing the news, Drak has ordered immediate movement of the fleet to Pyrath. When suddenly an interdictor pulled them out of hyperspace!

Tactical Briefing Text[edit]

The [Deputy Grand Master's Escort Force] has been pulled out of hyperspace by some pirates!

They have some makeshift gravity wells...destroy them so that the [DEF] can hyper out.

Take out any threats to the [DEF] as well.

May the dark side of the force guide you...

Radio Messages[edit]

<Drak> Get those gravity wells!

<Pandragon 1> Arg, we have to destroy them piece by piece...

<Drak> The Oppressor is taking hits

<Pirate> Surrender your ships, and we will let you live...

<Drak> Destroy those gravity wells...

<Drak> First gravity well destroyed!

<Drak> Gravity wells are gone! excellent

<Drak> Give us a few moments to enter hyperspace

<Drak> Get back to the Indomitable so we can leave!

Victory Briefing[edit]

"Those pirates are dumb as a bunch of posts," said Drak in the Indomitable's debriefing room.

"Well Siths, the good news is that we're getting closer to Pyrath. The bad news is that we didn't have enough time to make proper calculations for that jump, so we're going to have to stop and recalculate."

Drak walked out of the room. It was time for another escort mission.

Mission 3: Calculations[edit]

Pyrath-3-large.png

Commander's Briefing[edit]

After the slight inconvenience with the unknown pirate faction, which is now in oblivion, the Deputy Grand Master's Escort Force is on its way to Pyrath to help in the feud against the Akumvah and their Blade Maidens.

Unfortunately, another setback has come. The quickly calculated hyper jump from the pirate base has knocked the DEF slightly out of their flight plan, therefore they must stop to recalculate. This stop will take approximately 5 minutes to complete, and a fighter escort is needed to protect the DEF while they wait.

Tactical Briefing Text[edit]

The [Deputy Grand Master's Escort Force] has to make a small stop for a course correction.

We've left hyperspace next to a neutral [communications array], leave it alone.

Hammerhead Squadron will launch to defend the [DEF] while they correct their course.

Destroy any enemies that may arrive.

May the dark side of the force guide you...

Radio Messages[edit]

<Drak> This won't take long. Just some minor adjustments

<Hammerhead 1> I sense something master...

<Drak> Yes, it seems to be...

<Aquila> THE AKMUVAH!

<Drak> The what?

<Aquila> grrr...you will be destroyed!

<Drak> Hammerhead, get the fighters, we'll shoot the cruisers down

<Hammerhead 1> Copy that

<Drak> One down

<Drak> They're gone! Time to get on with this mission

<Drak> Get back to the Indomitable so we can leave. We're waiting!

Victory Briefing[edit]

"Pyrath is just ahead master," the Indomitable's Captain told Drak.

"Wonderful...now we join the blockade. Any orders from the Avenger as to where to place ourselves?" Drak asked.

"They said to put ourselves wherever you fancy..." the captain answered.

"Excellent, place the ships at random locations throughout the blockade," ordered Drak.

"This will be a hell of a capital ship battle," said the captain.

"Sure...but I'm going in with my fighter," Drak told him.

Mission 4: Pyrathian Blockade[edit]

Pyrath-4-large.png

Commander's Briefing[edit]

The Deputy Grand Master's Escort Force has arrived at Pyrath and is now joining the blockade. The situation has escalated here, and the Akmuvah are attempting to break the blockade so that they can leave and get some reinforcements.

DA Drak has offered to fill in the hole that they are attempting to go through with his small escort fleet, and he will go himself.

Tactical Briefing Text[edit]

Greetings Sith, we are getting ready for an attempt to break our blockade from the enemy.

The blockade of [Pyrath] must not fail. Defend all [Brotherhood forces].

Chances are that this will end up being a big capital ship fight...make sure no fighters get in our way!

[DA Drak] himself will be flying a TIE Advanced in this battle. We cannot fail.

May the dark side of the force guide you...

Radio Messages[edit]

<Drak> Not long now...

<Drak> Here they are! Don't let them break the blockade

<Drak> Fighters! Hammerhead, Pandragon, follow me

<Akmuvah> Attack them! Pierce their blockade!

<Drak> There goes the cruiser!

<Drak> Enemy fleet is half destroyed!

<Drak> Fighters are dead

<Drak> Excellent, their attempt has been stopped

Victory Briefing[edit]

"The Blockade is staying strong master, with the addition of your force, and your few more ships, it has been well fortified. You are dearly needed here in the absence of the Grand Master," said a young Dark Council member to Drak when he came in from the hangar.

"Say again?" answered Drak.

"Haven't you heard, master? The Grand Master has been knocked into a coma..." he replied.

"Oh..." Said Drak.
