TFTC-TC 3: Typhoon Squadron's Day-Off: Part 1
General Information[edit]
Title: Typhoon Squadron's Day-Off: Part 1
Number of Missions: 5
Original Upload Date: 2024-07-16
Author: Jagged Fell III
Readme Background[edit]
Typhoon pilots are some of the best in the TIE Corps and while they work hard nearly every day for the Corps, they too sometimes need a day off. Here we chronicle the adventures of many of the Typhoon pilots on their various days off, even if that day was not supposed to be a day which they took off...
Note: This battle was conceived before VA Locke Setzer ascended to the BGCOM position he now holds and before GN Master and GN La'an left to command Firebird and Scorpion Squadrons respectively.

Mission 1: A Happy Encounter[edit]
Commander's Briefing[edit]
The TIE Corps has traveled to the Unknown Regions in search of the mysterious dark presence Lord Grand Admiral Darth Rapier has sensed from afar. After many delays and conflicts along the way the TIE Corps reached XC-50391 over a week ago. The search for what happened to the missing colony is still underway, but now it is time to establish supply lines back to Emperor’s Hammer home territory and Aurora itself.
The navigators aboard the three primary Star Destroyers have conferred and shared their records of the circuitous route through the Chaos that the Fleet had to follow to this position above 50391 and believe they have found a stable route back to the Alpha Sector that will be much more direct and efficient.
Now they need to send a scout to travel the marked route and verify it is safe for the supply ships to begin using.
CM Jagged Fell III has been selected to scout the route as he knows the trade languages of the region and if he becomes lost in the journey, he would have a good chance to be able to receive assistance from the indigenous populations of the Chaos he may be able to find.
Tactical Briefing Text[edit]
You will travel the marked hyperspace route back to Aurora in your T/A.
We hope for a smooth, speedy journey, but be prepared for complications to arise.
If you feel the need, you are authorized to take up to 10 hours in-route for rest breaks to ensure the safety of the journey.
The Fleet is counting on you, Fell. Now to your fighter.
Radio Messages[edit]
<VA Locke> Typhoon 3-1, have a safe journey back to Aurora
<CM Fell> Will do, admiral
Ok there is the nav buoy to the first way point in the hyperspace course
Cool, I sometimes forget how much I love the appearance of space here in the Chaos
Alright, there is the nav point to the way point just outside the Chaos
What is going on here? Pirates!
<Blue Orchid> Unknown fighter! Please help me! They disabled me before I got my shields up
<Pirates> You will stay out of this if you know what is good for you, or your next!
Those arrogant scum!
<CM Fell> Leave her alone or face the consequences!
<Pirates> Get him!
<CM Fell> You asked for it!
<Blue Orchid> Great work! That is half the fighters
<CM Fell> Ok, all clear. Blue Orchid how are you doing?
<Blue Orchid> Still working to get the engines repaired
<CM Fell> Can I come aboard and help?
<Blue Orchid> That would be amazing!
She is GORGEOUS! Right focus on fixing the ship
<Blue Orchid> Everything is back on-line! Thanks for all the help, handsome!
<CM Fell> Can I escort you to your destination?
<Blue Orchid> Sure, sugar. Sending the nav data over now
<CM Fell> See you there
Victory Briefing[edit]
Jagged escorted the beautiful freighter pilot all the way to her destination two systems over. As they finished off-loading her ship, Shiri’ala invited him to join her for a meal, her treat.
“It’s the least that I can do for my rescuer,” she said in her wonderfully sultry voice. “On this station there is a cantina that serves a wonderful marinated mynock dish.”
“I don’t know. I really should be getting on my way.”
But Jagged’s heart really wasn’t in it. He couldn’t take his eyes off her and didn’t want to leave as he knew he would never see this blue-skinned goddess again once he left the station.
“Come on Blue. Share a meal with me.”
“Alright, I will. Just, please don’t call me ‘Blue’. My friends call me ‘Three.’”
“Ok Three, you can call me Shiri. Follow me.”
She turned on her heel and began walking languidly towards the cantina deeper in the station. Jagged followed behind, not believing his luck.
Jagged knew that he should be getting on with his scouting mission, but could not take his eyes off Shiri as she talked animatedly about one subject after another. She talked not only with her hands, but with her lekku as well. Jagged had seen twi’lek women before, but had never spent so much time in the company of such a beautiful example of their race.
Fortunately, his mission briefing had allowed for a rest break on his journey if he felt that it was needed for safety, so this delay talking with Shiri would not cause him to be reported AWOL.
They talked for hours over their meal, and then for hours more as they walked around the station afterwards. Jagged just couldn’t get enough of her presence. Finally, they found themselves back at the hanger as he escorted her back to her ship.
As they were saying their good byes Jagged mustered up his courage and blurted out, “Can I get your holonet address? I just can’t stand the thought of never talking to you again.”
“I thought you would never ask,” Shiri replied with a smile and pulled out a data pad to punch in a message to him so that they would each have the other’s contact information.
She quickly gave him a kiss on the cheek and then turned and walked with swaying hips up the ramp into her ship.
Jagged got into his T/A in a daze and set off for Aurora. He could have powered the fighters hyperdrive with the fire running through him from that kiss.
Mission 2: FINALS Week!![edit]
Commander's Briefing[edit]
It was madness at the Imperial University. Once again, they were offering extra credit during the Fleet war games called Raise the Flag for passing IU courses and the work load had become immense in the faculty offices.
General Triji Boliv was especially annoyed. His new pilot in Typhoon Squadron had submitted SIXTY exams for grading this month alone and now he needed to grade them, along with all the others that kept coming in.
The Training Officer, Admiral Sylas Pitt, had ordered that all exams needed to be graded today as the games were coming to a close. But Triji was tired and decided what ‘Consuela’ didn’t know, couldn’t hurt Triji.
With a smile on his face, Triji quickly ran for the hanger deck and his waiting TIE Defender.
Tactical Briefing Text[edit]
You are making a run for it. That bar Master took you too a few months ago sounds good right now. Just don’t get caught...
END
Radio Messages[edit]
Ok, now for that drink, what were the coordinates again?
<CPT Rain> Hey B. I can’t believe you got all those exams graded already
<GN Boliv> Yeah...you know...when you are good you can get them done fast sometimes...
<CPT Rain> B...the logs are showing that your grades aren’t in yet
<GN Boliv> Hey, don’t be a narc. I just got to get out of here tonight. Those tests can wait for tomorrow. No big deal
<CPT Rain> B, Sylas is going to kill you if you play hooky today. And I am NOT going down with you
Sith spit, I got to get out of here, and fast
Whew...that was close
Wait a minute! What is that? I could swear those weren’t here the last time. Why would they put all those ships and stations so close together? The New Republic sure is weird
<Casino> Unknown fighter, what is your identification and purpose here?
<GN Boliv> This is ah...Bill Kelso flying Slate 1 out of Sullust. I am here to drink and have a good time
<Casino> Your profile seems to match some EH fighters we had here a while ago...no matter. You are cleared to land at Docking Bay 5
Score! Good job thinking to use my old, false ID, this way that I am here can’t get back to the EH or more importantly, Sylas
Music playing, after drinking for several hours
Hic...that was fun, I should go to another bar next
<AD Pitt> Triji, what the kriff are you doing? Get your tail back to your office and finish grading those papers!
<GN Boliv> How did you find me?
<AD Pitt> After Atashi told me you did a runner I put in an alert for your credit account. When you paid your bar tab it told me you were here. Really, you thought I wouldn’t know about your time as “Bill Kelso”?
<GN Boliv> NARC!
<CPT Rain> Come on B! Just come with us and finish grading
<GN Boliv> NEVER!
I should hide in that new construction over there
What? Why did the door close? Why are there mines shooting at me? Is this a maze? Why would anyone build something like this? Well at least they can’t follow me now. Got to calculate a jump out of here and then get out of this kriffing maze
I know what I will do. They will never expect me to go back TOWARDS EH space, alright course laid in
<GN Boliv> Better luck next time!
Alright now where to?
<GN Boliv> How the kriff did you follow me this time
<CPT Rain> A girl has to have a few secrets. Now knock this off and come with me. Sylas is pissed
<GN Boliv> You’ll never take me back!
<CPT Rain> I already sent where we are, this isn’t going to work B!
Ok, now to get out of here
<AD Pitt> You’re coming with us if you like it or not
<GN Boliv> Seriously...you sent all them after me because I didn’t grade like 20 tests?
<AD Sylas> It is the principle of the thing. I let you get away with it and they all will
Victory Briefing[edit]
With that, Triji was dragged back to the University and chained to his desk until he finished his grading. As AD Pitt was walking out of the room he called, “You know, I am technically your commanding officer.”
Sylas turned and said over his shoulder, “Only when we are with the squadron. Here I am the law.”
Sylas walked out muttering, “He is almost as bad as Master sometimes.”
With a sigh and a burp Triji powered up his terminal and got back to his grading.
Mission 3: Day in the Life of a COMM[edit]
Commander's Briefing[edit]
Fleet Admiral Jarek La’an had a problem. His work faithfully monitoring the Emperor’s Hammer’s holonet traffic to ensure compliance with the Officers Codes of Conduct kept him too often tied to a desk and a datapad. This interfered with his keeping up his flight hours for his second role within the Emperor’s Hammer, that of being General Jarek La’an, Typhoon 1-2 of the TIE Corps.
For years this problem had plagued him, but today his friend, High Admiral Turtle Jarrar, had come to him with an idea. Turtle had developed a Virtual Simulation of the Emperor’s Hammer holonet traffic and linked it with a TIE Defender flight simulator. He said that by using his new system La’an could troll the posts of the TIE Corps while also getting his flight hours in.
La’an was eager to try anything to break the monotony of his desk work and jumped at the chance to test the system out. He headed down into the simulator bay and connected to Turtle’s new system right away.
Tactical Briefing Text[edit]
I made this Virtual Simulation for you to use today. The visuals are still a work in progress but I think you should find it fun.
Radio Messages[edit]
Alright, I was a bit worried but it is just a video of Jagged and his new girlfriend singing karaoke
froZen sent out a cute clip of his pets again
A little risky there, don't you think Mordred?
Gytheran's family photo?
What is this SoloHan? Why did you shave it? I am confused
<HA Turtle Jerrar> Hey, La'an we got reports of a bot on the net
<FA La'an> I see it. One moment
<FA La'an> Ban hammer incoming in 3...2...1...
That was kriffing awesome! I loved how that looked! Right, now to delete all the spam messages
Just Miles's weekly trivia quiz
Maston has a good movie planned for this week
Vanguard's flying is just next level! How does he do that?!
What are these?
What? Ok, got to delete these and quick, but should log each first
All the new messages logged, starting the back trace. While that's working need to delete all the messages
Ok, that is all of them deleted. Now to go to their source
There is the miscreant
<FA La'an> You need to stop these posts immediately!
<Poster> Suck it La'an! (this is the line Locke was leery about)
<FA La'an> Ok, time to use the Ban Hammer again. Incoming in 3...2...1...wait? Nothing happened? Why didn't that work?
<Poster> What? Are you impotent too? Eat bantha poodoo La'an!
<FA La'an> Well, guess I will have to do this the hard way
<Poster> What? Can't you take a joke? Lighten up La'an!
<Poster> Fine! Kill joy, moral police!
Alright, time to go back and log out. Got to ask Turtle why this guy was immune to my admin powers
Oh...guess that was a bit extreme
Victory Briefing[edit]
As La’an climbed out of the simulator Turtle asked him eagerly, “So, what did you think? Awesome right?”
“It certainly was something. The backgrounds were a confused mess, but they worked in a way. And it was good to be able to fly while checking all the comm traffic.”
“But come on, what did you think of that Ban Hammer?”
“That was unequivocally the most awesome thing I have seen in a while.”
“I know right.”
“But that reminds me, why couldn’t I use the Ban Hammer, or any of my admin rights, on that last Poster?” “Well...” Turtle hesitated.
“Well, what?”
“Well, I wanted you to see all the things it could do, but everyone was behaving themselves so you weren’t going to need to do much today. So...I figured I would just make some trouble for you. And since I have admin rights too and I had made the account it wouldn’t let you force it via a command. By the time I got the rights and privileges worked out you had committed to doing it the ‘Hard Way.’” Turtle smiled sheepishly.
“So, you were the one calling me all those names?”
“I had to make it feel real right?”
La’an gave Turtle a stare.
“Ok, but you owe me.”
“Sure, whatever you want.”
“You can deal with the comm traffic for the rest of the week, I am going to go have a drink with Master.”
Mission 4: Helping a Lady Out[edit]
Commander's Briefing[edit]
Jagged and Shiri’ala have been dating for months now. She has moved her base of operations to Aurora in order to be more available to him, and every chance he gets to head back to the Alpha Sector, and Aurora, he takes so he is able to spend time with her.
Shiri’s business has started to thrive with the citizens of the Emperor’s Hammer coming to appreciate the quick and reliable service she provides. Their cargos are delivered on-time and without damage, not something that every freight service can boast of in this turbulent galaxy.
Shiri has arranged with Jagged for him to come and help her on a delivery run today as she has a surprise planned for him at its end.
Tactical Briefing Text[edit]
Hey Handsome, you are going to be flying with me in the [Blue Orchid] for today’s delivery.
I’ll let you take the pilot’s seat while I can sit there and work the nav computer.
We have to pickup a special package at Eriadu and our cargo of Lommite that we are hauling to Denon.
After we drop off the Lommite I have a surprise in store for you.
Radio Messages[edit]
<Shiri> Alright Handsome. This girl’s got a schedule to keep
<CM Fell> Ok, all systems showing green. You got the course punched up?
<Shiri> Coming up now sugar
<EAC> Freighter entering into Eriadu Area Control space, state your identity and purpose here
<Shiri> Come on Paanth, you recognize me don’t you?
<EAC> Oh, Shiri. Sorry I didn’t actually check the scope to look. Of course, you are here for the Lommite Ore right?
<Shiri> And that “special” package I got you holding for me
<EAC> Go ahead a dock with the station to get your package and then the Ore is waiting for you in the loading area
<Shiri> Thank you Paanth
<Shiri> Babe, just set us down for a bit so I can grab my package
<Shiri> Thanks, all set. Just go grab the cargo and we can be on our way
<CM Fell> Got the ore. Put up the coordinates of the next jump now
<Denon> Alright Blue Orchid, we see you. Just deliver the ore to the drop off area and we will transfer the credits into your holding account
<Pirates> I don’t think so! Surrender now or we will take what we want from your wreckage
<CM Fell> Why are pirates constantly after you?
<Shiri> I don’t know! Denon, a little help here if you please
<Denon> We aren’t getting in the middle of this
<CM Fell> Cowards. Dump the ore so we can maneuver and get on the dorsal turret
<CM Fell> Ok that is all the pirates. Let’s grab the ore again and move it to the delivery area and get out of here
<Shiri> I expect my payment to be prompt
<Denon> Credits have been sent. I hope you can understand us staying neutral
<Shiri> Oh I understand pathetic just fine
<Shiri> Nav coordinates coming up now
<CM Fell> Hey, this isn’t towards home. Where are you taking us?
<Shiri> I told you I have a surprise planned
<CM Fell> What is this?
<Shiri> This is Tynna. We have a bungalow on the beach booked for the rest of the week my dear. Want to go lay on the beach in bathing suits with me?
<CM Fell> But what about us needing to get back? I don’t want to get reported as AWOL
<Shiri> Oh that is the best part, I already got it cleared by B and L. They said to tell you to have fun
Victory Briefing[edit]
It turned out that the “special package” Shiri had picked up in Eriadu was beach outfits and swimsuits for both him and her. They parked the Blue Orchid on the orbital station and took the local shuttle down to the resort world below. And with that they spent the following days lazing about their private beach and swimming in the ocean, looking at the exotic fish around their tropical island.
Jagged didn’t know the last time he had had so much fun. He felt alive when he was around Shiri’ala in ways he didn’t know were possible. He couldn’t imagine going back to a time before she was in his life. He was growing used to her presence and felt empty when she was away from him for too long.
He had thought that joy like this had died on Nirauan, that day the Jedi took his mother from him. His world had grown cold and harsh in the years that followed that day. He had dedicated himself to the destruction of the Jedi and the New Republic that they propped up, but now he had found a new motivation. No longer did he fight to destroy the New Republic. Now he fought to protect what he had found and built in the Emperor’s Hammer.
He looked over at Shiri as she was sunning herself in what could only be described as the most stunning swimsuit Jagged could have imagined. He smiled and said, “I love you Shiri’ala.”
“I love you too Jagged.”
Mission 5: Master Gets Dirty[edit]
Commander's Briefing[edit]
General Master is a legendary figure in Battlegroup III and the TIE Corps as a whole. Once a Fleet Admiral on the Emperor’s Hammer Command Staff but now just a General and Squadron Executive Officer in Typhoon Squadron. Master’s outsized personality and ability to drink nearly any human, and many non-human, pilots under the table has made him a fixture on the Challenge and in the Battlegroup as a whole.
But Master also has a second persona, one whose loyalty is to a Secret Order. There Master is not a General but a Marauder of Clan Drakonan, belonging to House Palpatine. And as a Marauder of the Secret Order Master’s current mission is to build his first lightsaber and join the ranks as a full Knight of the Secret Order.
Through his meditations in the Force he has determined that one of the last components he needs to construct his personal weapon is sand from the volcanic world of Mustafar. This is not any normal sand, but sand made from a special green crystal that is only formed in the heart of Mustafar. The crystals are brought to the surface in one of the many magma flows of that hellish world. Once on the surface, time and the harsh conditions of the world gradually turn the crystals into a fine, green sand that is infused with the Dark Side power that permeates that world.
Master has learned of a mysterious convoy ship that will be carrying the rare and precious sand from Mustafar to destinations unknown. He must set out at once in his custom YT-2000, [Vornskr,] to attack the ship and make off with his prize. His fellow Typhoon Squadron pilot Lieutenant Commander Marlore Julren has volunteered to go with Master as his gunner and co-pilot.
As they embark on their mission they have little idea of what it has in store for them.
Tactical Briefing Text[edit]
Ok, we are taking to the Vornskr to Mustafar to get my special dirt.
You are along to man the turrets encase we run into trouble, but this should be easy.
Radio Messages[edit]
<GN Master> Ok, you ready to get this show on the road? Because daddy needs to get dirty!
<LCM Julren> I got the nav coordinates coming up now. And some body lotion if you want some
<GN Master> What is up with the lotion?
<LCM Julren> I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. The lotion is to help the skin
<GN Master> It puts the lotion on it's skin or else it gets the hose again?
<LCM Julren> Exactly
<GN Master> There’s our target
<LCM Julren> Ok, the convoy ship between those two corvettes?
<GN Master> Those aren’t normal corvettes...they’re Space Emus. This task just got a whole lot more dangerous
<LCM Julren> Space Emus?
<GN Master> They look slow and harmless, but they are a terrible menace and incredibly hard to kill. They also run in packs so we got to be quick
<LCM Julren> Looks like the convoy ship is about to jump to hyperspace
<GN Master> Ok, here’s the plan of attack. We will disable the convoy ship and then take out the Emus before they can summon help. Ready?
<LCM Julren> I was born ready!
<LCM Julren> Convoy stopped, let's kill some Emus!
<GN Master> I like where your head is at
<GN Master> Frack! They are birthing chicks! Kill them quick!
<LCM Julren> All the chicks are dead
<GN Master> Got both the Emus. They are no match for us. Swinging back for that sand and then we are going to see what else they have around here for us to steal
<GN Master> More Emus!
<LCM Julren> Crap! They are launching chicks too
<LCM Julren> Chick free again
<GN Master> Got all the Emus. They are no match for us. Swinging back for that sand and then we are going to see what else they have around here for us to steal
<GN Master> KRIFF! It is TWO kriffing Space Drop Bears! We’re dead! They are the true rulers of this galaxy and they just allow us to live in it
<GN Master> Quick, get us a hyperspace vector out of here, I don’t care where to
<LCM Julren> Jump point calculated. Go! Go! Go!
<LCM Julren> I can’t believe we made it out of there!
<GN Master> Good work back there on that quick exit. Where are we?
<LCM Julren> Hoth. It is the direction we were pointing at the time
<GN Master> Good, it shouldn’t take us long to get back from here
<LCM Julren> Master, do you feel that?
<GN Master> I know. It is the sand. It radiates power. It will be perfect for what I need
Victory Briefing[edit]
It took some time, but the two adventurous Typhoon pilots made it back to Aurora without further incident, which can’t always be said of journeys with Master. After landing in a remote part of the hanger they worked quickly to get into the cargo container. For all its size, the amount of the verdant, green sand was quite small in the shipping container.
The aura of the Dark Side was nearly palpable when standing so close to their glittering prize. Marlore shivered and asked, “What are you going to use it for?”
Master gave a shrug.
“Honestly, at first, I didn’t know myself. Only knew that the Force said I was going to need it to forge the ultimate weapon. Now that I am so close to it, I think I do know what it is for. The power cell in my lightsaber will need to be surrounded by an Inert Power Insulator. This sand will perform that role nicely when vitrified into a solid of the right shape. And while it is inert to the mundane form of power coming from the energy cell, it will amplify my Dark Side powers at the same time.”
“Glad I could help you get it then. What was up with those Space Emus and Drop Bears?”
“I think they wanted this sand to power their dastardly plan to enslave this galaxy even further than they already have. We did a good deed today foiling their plan. The galaxy should thank us for our service really.”
“Do you think they would thank us enough to buy us a drink?”
“Only way to know is to head to the bar and find out.”
