A member's position defines the individual's roles and responsibilities within the overall Emperor's Hammer fleet or a subgroup. Positions include those with leadership/command authority (i.e., acts a leader of one or more other members), as well as staff and support-type positions that perform specific functions supporting club operations.
Overview
The concept of position is at the heart and core of the Emperor's Hammer organizational structure. Although ranks provide a member recognition for achievements over a period of time (sometimes associated with leadership responsibilities), position is what takes precedence, for it defines the member's roles, responsibilities, and relative influence within the club. The Emperor's Hammer is a very complex organization and once you understand these positions you will be able to understand your role as well as those of others you encounter in the club.
Many positions are designated as primary positions. Members are limited to holding a single primary position within a subgroup, which becomes their main position. If a member is not assigned to a primary position, their highest-weighted position becomes their main position. A member's main position determines their roster assignment location (i.e, unit/ship). All position and unit assignment is performed through the roster management interface by a member with roster assignment permissions.
Many positions have associated rank requirements. Flag Positions are designed Admiralty positions, and upon selection and appointment to these positions members may be promoted to the initial flag rank of Rear Admiral.
