The Emperor's Hammer has a multitude of medals and awards to recognize member activity and performance. These awards are divided into four basic groupings: Merit Awards, Service Awards, Commendations, and Campaign/Battle Medals. Awards within these groupings may be established directly by the Emperor's Hammer at the Fleet level (i.e., are authorized for award to any Emperor's Hammer member) or by a specific subgroup for award to its members.
- Merit Awards recognize distinguished service to the Emperor's Hammer and performance above and beyond the call of duty.
- Service Awards recognize noteworthy achievement within specific categories. Service Awards are further subdivided into the following groups: Emperor's Hammer Service Medals, competition awards, combat awards, and miscellaneous awards.
- Commendations generally recognize the completion of fixed objectives, as well as meritorious service.
- Campaign and Battle Medals recognize participation in named Emperor's Hammer campaigns or completion of single-player battles.
