Awards and Medals

The Emperor's Hammer has a multitude of medals and awards to recognize member activity and performance. These awards are divided into five basic groupings: Merit Medals, Service Medals, Competition/Activity Awards, Commendations, and Campaign/Battle Medals. Awards within these groupings may be established directly by the Emperor's Hammer at the Fleet level (i.e., are authorized for award to any Emperor's Hammer member) or by a specific subgroup for award to its members.

• Merit Medals recognize distinguished service to the Emperor's Hammer and performance above and beyond the call of duty.

• Service Medals recognize achievement within certain specific categories, such as mission design, recruitment, or academics.

• Competition and Activity Awards recognize excellent performance in a variety of categories. These generally include competition placement, combat activity, and miscellaneous activity.

• Commendations generally recognize the completion of fixed objectives, as well as meritorious service.

• Campaign and Battle Medals recognize participation in named Emperor's Hammer campaigns or completion of single-player battles.

Except for certain special awards, all award recommendations are created through the web site's award recommendation system. Award recommendations are then reviewed and approved by an authorized Command Staff Officer or Subgroup Command Staff Officer. Refer to the individual award articles and/or the Medal Permissions Report to view recommendation and approval authorities for each award.

  • Campaign Medals are awarded to participants in named Emperor's Hammer campaigns.
  • Members earn Battle Medals for completion of certain single-player custom battles/missions. Battle Medals are displayed on the respective battle's information page.
