Braaksma is a frigid ice world in the Lyarna System.

Details

Braaksma is a very dense world, with a gravitational pull of 2.4 times standard. Unlike most heavy worlds with suffocating thick atmosphere (which is actually advantageous as it speeds up the metabolism in carbon-based life forms, allowing them to actually function in strenuous high-G environments). Braaksma only has a pressure of about 20% greater than standard, perhaps due to the reduced level of volcanism in the planet's youth. Free water is scarce on Braaksma; most of the surface water is bound up in ice sheets and snow, so atmospheric precipitation is rare.

The planet is visited frequently by hunters wishing to prove their skill. At the top of the planets food chain is the Wampa, a very noteworthy opponent. It has been know for kabals to send their newer members out onto the ice world with just a knife as their only protection. The whole idea is for them to hunt down and kill a Wampa as part of their initiation into the Kabal. Not many come back the same, not many come back at all.

Moons

Braaksma

Braaksma's moon Alyc is a lifeless globe of rock. Its only surface features are numerous craters and plummeting canyons that appear to be bottomless. Nothing much is worthy of residing here. The old Reform Wing of the Nideavoot Tsayad Bounty Hunter College still stands here, and is though to be empty. Rumours do say that there are still some of the NTC's apprentices still locked in their cells. It's even been said that the Unassigned Pool hunters end up here too. These unwanted hunters apparently make excellent targets for the BHG's training exercises, they seem to simulate fear more accurately than any training drone ever could.
