The Rebel Squadrons are a specialized force from the New Republic, stationed in the Greoop System. When first the New Republic learned of our operations, Greoop was transformed into a highly sophisticated base of operations. From here they watch and wait to find new ways to defeat us.

The Greoop System was going to be the primary location of the New Republic forces in this sector of the Outer Rim. However, because the system is exposed to possible attack by factions of Imperial forces, it was decided to use the star system as a frontier base with The Republic Shield assigned to its already completed facilities.

Errin is a planet populated by a sentient species designated as Nincar. The Nincar have an Industrial Age culture which is split up between 52 nationalities. They seem to value social individuality over the efficiency of a single government. The Nincar are organized into a very loose planet wide confederacy called Planet Legend which serves to settle disputes between the factions and establish general law and order. This job is complicated by the insistence by some of the factions to continue speaking archaic tribal languages instead of the standard language spoken by half their population. Physically, the Nincar species are mammalian, shaped with an upright oval torso, four long and bony legs, two long and bony arms, and heads that are at the end of relatively long necks. They are about twice the size of humans, on average.

The Planet Legend was first contacted by our Rebel Alliance in an effort to prepare them for the eventuality that the Empire would discover their presence. However, since the formation of the New Republic, agreements of mutual defense and technological trading have been made. Right now, the New Republic is trading much needed supplies (such as food) for technology. The New Republic has also started arming the forces under the control of Planet Legend on Errin for the purpose of planetary defense. Planet Legend forces now have two squadrons of Z-95s and a M/Corv. (The Nincar are about twice the size of the average human, so all ships have been modified to accommodate Nincar physiology. This includes the removal of some onboard equipment in both starfighters and the M/Corv. As a result, the Nincar pilots will not be as proficient in battle) With this trading, the New Republic hopes the Errinians will decide to forget their own internal squabbles and join the New Republic in its efforts to free the galaxy from the tyranny of the Empire. The Planet Legend has allowed the New Republic to build several major structures on Errin.

The planet of Errin is a lush, green and wet world. With 82% of its surface covered by free standing water, Errin also has a developing aquaculture technology with will hopefully be producing mass quantities of food within two decades for export with other worlds. Many other life forms (flora and fauna) are indigenous to Errin as well.

Blerthmore is a barren, lifeless world which will serve as the location of The Republic Shield Fleet Domed Command Complex. The planet has huge ice caps formed at each pole, probably made possible because of the extreme tilt of the planet on its axis. Blerthmore also has a very thin nitrogen atmosphere with very little oxygen. Other than that, it is a fairly uninteresting world. It was chosen as the location for the fleet command center because its large canyons provide the idea locations for large arcologies.

As a brown dwarf, Salsasia is one of three major bodies in the Greoop System. It not only as eight (8) major satellites, but hundreds of minor orbiting bodies as well. Although the moons of Salsasia receive minimal light from either star in this star system, Salsasia itself provides a considerable amount of heat that gives the moons with atmospheres a reasonably cool and sometimes temperate climates.

One point of interest is the fact that three of Salsasia's moons actually orbit each other. These three moons are called Salsasia IVa, Salsasia IVb and Salsasia IVc. Each of these moons has relatively the same size and mass, but only Salsasia IVb as an atmosphere. The other two Salsasia IV moons are somewhat rich in various heavy metals. More information on Salsasia IVb is below. The other moons and minor objects have various resources which can be mined with further development of the star system.

This moon of Salsasia has a stable cool and sometimes temperate climate allowed by the warmth generated by Salsasia. The presence of bocca and the ability to set up large scale agricultural efforts has made this moon the perfect location for an advanced medical facility and private farming companies.

The moon itself also has signs of artificial terraforming efforts, but no physical evidence can prove or disprove this opinion. If it was terraformed, it is believed that it must have been done more than 10,000 years ago. Life on the Salsasia III is mostly lower mammalian and reptile like animals of various sizes and adaptations. Some crustaceans live in the two great lakes. Other animal live forms are microscopic. The plant life is mostly flowers and ground hugging brushes. It is surprising to see actual flowers propagate on a moon that receives so little light.

Salsasia IVb is a lifeless world with a surprisingly breathable (but still thin) atmosphere. In an effort to improve the usefulness of the moon, the New Republic has built a terraforming complex. Over time, various life forms will be able to inhabit the surface of this world.

The main purpose of this world for the New Republic right now is to serve as the training facility for ground troops. The harsh, yet still livable environment is perfect for preparing troops for the worst conditions.
